The location was great, it was in the heart of Dontonburi. The staff was also really nice and helpful. However, the hotel is pretty old and not the cleanest. They also didn't clean our room (they only clean every 3 nights) which would have been fine if they gave us fresh towels every day.

What a terrible hotel. Dirty, grungy, and instead of a queen bed they just put two twin beds together. Like what.. Avoid, definitely the worst hotel i’ve been in Japan so far. Overpriced and small. I paid more hoping for a nicer stay. Nope.

We have stayed at a few Ibis styles properties in the past that we enjoyed but this one was terrible!!! Like many reviews have stated, the room was dirty and the sewage smell was really bad. If it wasn’t for the location we would have left after the 1st night. The room is super small (can barely fit our luggages), the hairdryer was damaged, the walls have mold, dust everywhere and there were some questionable stains on the curtains (these drape over one side of the bed). Would upload the pics of how gross it was if I could. It just feels like the staff doesn’t keep the place clean. Will not come back to this particular hotel if we stay in Osaka.

This hotel is in a great location for food and shopping. Our room was nice, however the bathroom is a bit outdated and had a bad smell to it constantly like old fried food. Not sure if it was coming from the vent but it was quite unpleasant.

6/10 Good

Whilst this hotel is fairly new, clean and modern, it is right in the Dotombori nightclub hub of Osaka. It was very loud every night, all night long. When we stepped out in the morning, most clubs were still going. This may not bother others but it wasn’t for us. We booked a room with a queen sized bed and got a room with two singles shoved together. The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable and the room was tiny (but this is quite typical of big city hotel rooms in Japan). The TV did not have English channels nor any streaming services or screen sharing functions, we wished we’d brought our Chromecast. The hotel had free, password protected wifi. Check in was quick and easy and staff were polite and prompt. We were charged an additional fee of 100¥ per person per night upon check-in. There were facilities (laundromat) on the 8th floor which was great and there is a 7 Eleven next door which was very convenient - their range of instant ramen was next level! The hotel is a ten minute walk from any train station, so be prepared for a battle to get your luggage to/from the train through hoards of pedestrians on the streets. Our room was cleaned the first night upon request, but not the following two nights, despite us leaving the door hanger requesting fresh towels and an emptied bin. If we were to return to Osaka, we would stay near Namba Train Station, which is much quieter, close to the train, and a cleaner/nicer area, just ten minutes’ walk from this location.

In terms of cleanliness, not what I expected from Japan. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days even if you request for it, they will just change your towels and empty garbage. While doing so, they even left our room open for the whole 10 hours that we are not there. Good thing that nothing was stolen or missing, but leaving your room open is just a terrible mistake that should not even occur in the first place. Staff should be aware of safety, it should be the priority. The hotel needs some renovation as well, it is old, bathroom smells every time you flush. The only thing I like is the location, it is step away from dining options. Other than that, I'm not comfortable staying at this hotel

2/10 Poor

This hotel was absolutely filthy. The bathroom smelled like urine and dead fish. The twin beds were actually camping cots and were only about 18 inches wide. If you try to turn over, you would fall off. The counter in the bedroom was taped together with scotch tape that was peeling off. Although they claim to be a non-smoking room, the room smelled of stale smoke. We immediately went to the front desk and demanded a refund. We could not even spend one night in this hotel. The location is in the middle of an area with extreme nightlife. The photographs on the website are completely false. They claim to have put us in one of the nicest rooms. But our room looks nothing like anything on the website. There’s no mention of the extreme noise and nightlife in the area. So unless you’re 20 and looking to party all night long, this hotel is not for you .
