Great location for wandering up and down Smith St. Looks like the building is old but our apartment had a lovely renovated kitchen and bathroom. Furniture is very basic but was OK.

Appalling. It was no where near as described. It was filthy. There was god knows what I’m the bed head and spare blanket. The ‘bed’ for my son was just laying on bare springs. There was toilet paper stuck on the door. It felt very dodgy and unsafe and we left within 30 mins of arriving and went elsewhere. The manager was meant to call me… still waiting. They are refusing to refund me, even for the unused nights. This place needs to be reported to Consumer Affairs.

The rooms were run down. Broken windows, no exhaust fans, poor finishes around the room, no extra blankets or pillows. Poor quality overall but if you’re just going to sleep there, the bed was fine.

Don’t book this accommodation, go somewhere else! We booked for three nights, but after entering the two bedroom apartment we were shocked by how disheveled the property was. Nothing like the photos! The walls were grimy, the furniture was old and battered, the beds had hardly any linen and the spare blankets in the cupboard had old food smeared on them. After we contacted the front desk, to complain, we were shown into an adjacent apartment which was only mildly better. As it was getting late & we’d been travelling all day, we resigned ourselves to stay the night, much to our children’s horror. After putting the kettle on, we looked in the cupboards for more blankets & on finding none, got back in touch to request some. Went to make the tea, the cupboard door was filthy & the cups inside were unwashed; two cups had old, dried tea in them, the other cup tea & lipstick. While we were coming to terms with this discovery, there was a knock on the door, where we were presented with the blankets from the first apartment, the ones with the food on them. Needless to say at that point we decided to leave, staying even one night was not an option, as we had lost all faith in the hygiene standards of City Edge Apartments. Luckily we found somewhere not too far away and we’re able to shift.

Image advertised implies this is a motel style accommodation and that there is servicing. After hours check-in process is complicated by the fact that address and that pictured is not where you may be staying. And when you do work that out (couple of phone calls later and talking to others confused), the rooms were not serviced. Otherwise, affordable, great location and those we did contact did their best to assist.

The shower was only big enough for someone a size 12 or smaller could fit into. Disgusting!!! Only 1 of the 4 people staying could fit into the shower and it was my 7 year old daughter. The "King" bed was 2 x king single beds, this is standard, however they were different heights and softness so you couldn't sleep anywhere near the middle of with your partner as the gap in height was VERY uncomfortable. For the cost of this hotel I am beyond disgusted. We drove 3 hours home after our 10pm finish at our event in Melbourne as the thought of spending another night in this room was too much.
