an older APA Hotel.
I usually stay in an APA because I love the beds but this one is one of the older ones and was in below average condition with smaller than average room size. One point to note is the surrounding neighbourhood. After my long trip I needed a massage so I went a few doors up and saw a sign. It had a sign of a woman being massaged and foot rubs etc, so I thought why not. Unfortunately half an hour in she started to interfere with my undercarriage and it was all downhill from there. I kept asking her to massage my shoulders but she wouldn't stop going for my tallywacker and backdoor donut. Most awkward hour of my life. Turns out the area is pretty much a red light district.

Convenient and comfortable
Not a large room. But practical, neat, and equipped with necessary items Price was reasonable and everything was cleaned and replaced everyday. No noise in spite of perfect location where everything is nearby such as convenience store, bar, restaurant, even the station. Great location if you want to tour many places in Tokyo since it is located in the kind of central part. You can see Tokyo tower form the hotel.

Bit tiny
Awfully small foot print, especially in the bath

Reasonable but extremely small rooms
Akasaka is a nice area and this hotel was reasonably priced. Close to the Akasaka Mitsuke station so it was easy to get around, not to mention being in the middle of the 3 streets of almost pedestrian-only entertainment district of Akasaka. Main thing to be aware of is that the rooms are extremely small (at least the budget one I booked), so really no place to set down my suitcase and when sitting at the table to try to get some work done on my laptop, I could barely squeeze into my chair since it would hit my bed if I tried to push it away from the table more than a couple feet.
