Location, location, location
I could not have been better located. This pleasant small hotel is on a quiet street full of Art Nouveau-era houses but is only a three-minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and the nearest tram station. Walk just another few minutes and you find yourself right in the center of the city. The staff of this hotel was unfailingly cheery and helpful. My room was on the small side, and did not have a lot in the way of atmosphere or decoration, but it did have a wonderfully high ceiling, and casement windows that opened onto a lovely view of the quiet late 19th-century street.

Not A Good Hotel Deal-Disappointing
A friend and I stayed here for 5 nights in January. I wish we had paid up for a better hotel. This hotel is NOT worth the price, even at cut rate price. The rooms are small, the Hotel does not stock soaps and other toiletries other than this awful pink soap that comes out of a dispenser. The Hotel staff was surly and otherwise indifferent to its guests. Our first night there was a Saturday. We arrived late from the airport. At about 3am we were awakened by this loud, raucous noise in the rooms next door. It was by some people coming in from the clubs. The walls of this hotel are paper-thin, so you can hear everything in the rooms next to you.The thermostat didn't work well. We were roasted like turkeys at night. At one point, we did our best to shut off the heat and opened the windows. This was during a very cold time of season. One morning my friend was sick, so I went to breakfast by myself. I fixed my friend some bread, butter and cold cuts so that he would have something to eat as he lay in bed getting better. The lady at the breakfast room noticed and tried to charge me for taking food to my friend. There are much better hotels in Amsterdam than this uncomfortable place. Do not be taken in by the positive reviews of this place. It is a terrible hotel. YOu are much better off paying up for a better place. Breakfast is not that good either.

Comfortable hotel in great location
This clean and friendly hotel is located on a quiet street in the Museum District. Trams to other parts of Amsterdam are conveniently close. We were upgraded to a spacious room with a small balcony. I don’t know what the regular rooms are like. All the staff, including the breakfast cooks, were warm and helpful. Breakfast costs about $15 if not included in the room rate. The hotel and location reminded me of the Bloomsbury section of London, near the British Museum, where I used to stay as a student. However, those were budget hotels and this one is not. The furnishings and decor are a bit tired, but still comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

Delightful hotel near the Rijksmuseum.
Our stay here was wonderful and I’d likely stay there next time I’m in Amsterdam. They are conveniently located to many museums including the Rijksmuseum, and by convenient I mean you step out the door, walk around the block and it’s right there. And it’s within a very reasonable walking distance of a tram stop, from which you can get most anywhere in Amsterdam. The room was delightful - a little small if you aren’t used to off-chain European hotels, but certainly enough room to move around and get into your luggage and such. But if you’re spending enough time in the room to complain about the size, you’re not doing Amsterdam right - there’s so much to see in the city that we frequently didn’t get back in until late. The bed was comfortable and nice to return too, and the view was nice. You really felt like you were staying in Amsterdam without being isolated by the corporate feel of a major hotel chain. In fact the only downside to our stay was beyond their control - the city was doing work on the street further up the block, and unfortunately cut the internet line to the block, but even then the staff went above and beyond to help, including getting a hotspot set up downstairs as a stop-gap and even helped me look up the train schedule for the next leg of our trip before I checked out. On that note, every one of the staff I encountered were wonderful and always helpful. Definitely would recommend them to anyone headed to Amsterdam.

Friendly hotel with personality
Stayed 3 nights with my husband and friends. Nice small hotel with personality and helpful, friendly service. Good location in quiet neighbourhood near main museums. Good public transportation near. Renovated bathrooms and more renovations just starting - not obviously what needed. Room might have been better with a bit higher temperature in wet winter’s weather but was good to sleep in. Breakfast had everything we needed and included homemade scrambled egg not available in bigger hotels nowadays. Would return some day if in Amsterdam!
