Great experience the first 2 days. On our last day we decided to eat at the Hotel Bistro. The bartender Nate who took our order continued to refer to me as Pop even after I asked him not to, for a total of 4 times. His behavior was arrogant and combative. I placed a complaint with the front desk. When he delivered our food, his first statement was "What was your problem earlier?" My wife replied that we had spent over a thousand dollars to stay here and deserved some respect. She also said that I had lodge a complaint concerning him. His reply to her was , I don't care what you paid, that's none of my business. Then he scoffed and said it did us no good to complain as the people at the front desk were below him, he was their boss and the Manager. He went on to say he never called me Pop. My 7 year old Granddaughter blurted out yes you did and your lying. He glared at her and said she misunderstood. She started to cry. I stood up with clenched fists. He said he would call the cops if I didn't sit down, which I did. The desk clerk came and apologized, saying we wouldn't have to pay for our meal. We left 95% of our meal too upset to eat. Our granddaughter had a hard time getting to sleep asking if that mean guy was coming. It is our belief that Nate the "Manager" was on some sort of medication that went sideways.

We stayed with our 20 month old and 4 years old for two nights at this hotel. We drove so we didn’t use their shuttle or bike rental services. Kid-friendliness/Safety: their queen beds are really high but the staff offered to remove the box springs for us. We didn’t end up doing that as our upgraded room has a Pull out sofa bed which was great for our 4 year old. For our 20 month old they provided a crib. The kids do end up playing on the queen beds and they had to be watched at all times as the beds are so high. Our 20m old did bump her head one of the hinges of the sofa bed despite us covering it with cushions. Standard rooms only have showers so we upgraded to have a bathtub. The hotel offered $35 per night upgrade instead of the usual $45. So that was very nice of them The pool is small but fun enough for the kids. There are lots of aspects of the hotel that are fun for kids. The bright colors. Fun puzzles in the elevator, the tv wall by the elevator that plays endless interesting clips, the doggie stuffy, the pineapple cookies at the concierge... The rooms smell a little musty and the floors looked like they have water damage. The shower stall was dated and the room was a little dated. We had to upgrade to get a room with a tub. Overall the service had been great and the staffs were very accommodating. Parking was $37 per night but the concierge told us that there are free parking right beside the hotel. So we parked for free.

We came for the Bite of Seattle at Seattle Center. The hotel is right across the street from there so it was a perfect location. I was a bit reluctant to book here because it was listed on expedia as a 3.5 star hotel (although it has a 4.6 of 5 guest rating). I usually only stay at 4 or 5 star places because I have a bad back and they tend to have better beds. That was not the case here. The beds were awesome! They were more comfortable than any other hotels I have stayed at, and I have travelled a lot. The room was nicer than many of the 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed in. It was also cleaner than most of them. All the staff were professional. The main difference from most other hotels is that they were also very friendly and fun. The whole hotel has a funky fun vibe to it (but not over the top). If you like the stuffy, uppity atmosphere of some high end hotels, then this is probably not the best place for you. If you want a high end experience with a fun and inviting atmosphere then I highly recommend The Maxwell Hotel. When we checked out on Sunday morning, they asked us if we wanted them to store our luggage so we did not need to lug it around all day. I know most hotels will do that if you ask, but they asked us! It may sound like a small thing, but those small things make a big difference. Of all the hotels I have stayed at, this is the only one I have taken the time to write a review for so far. We will be staying here anytime we come back to Seattle.

The Perfect Pineapple!
The first thing that attracted me to this hotel was the reviews. It was a little off the beaten path of Seattle, but not that far of a walk in my eyes. You are just a block or two from the Space Needle. We had a perfect view of the Needle from our room window, which was a lovely surprise. Nice and quiet in the neighborhood and my morning walks were just as peaceful through the neighborhoods.Parking was secure and will only open with your keycard. For 37.00 dollars it was worth it for the security of my vehicle. From the moment I entered the lobby it was an immediate smile on my face from all the bright colors. We were greeted by a lovely man named Mason (Mason you're my pineapple buddy for life). Free shuttle to take you to the nearest destinations for sightseeing. Room was clean and comfy. Slept like a baby for two nights. The Restaurant was great too (The Rock). Great selection of food and Aaron was the best server ever. Everyone was super friendly, great sense of humor and wait for it.....cupcakes as a snack in the afternoon daily. I came in later one day and missed cupcake time. I asked the lady at the front desk if they had any left over, she went in the back and to my surprise brought me out five to take to my room. Its those little things that you remember. People going out of their way to say hi, what you have planned for the day, recommending great places to eat and bringing you left over cupcakes. You will have my business when I come to Seattle forever!

A Fun and Funky Hotel
My two sons and I stayed at the Maxwell Hotel for just one night. It was in a great location, only about an 8 or 9 minute walk to the Space Needle. There were many restaurants within walking distance, and The Rock Restaurant is located in the hotel. Check-in was easy and friendly. We loved the mini cupcakes in the lobby too. Our room on the 5th floor overlooked a parking lot, but we had a nice view of the city as well. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and clean. We could hear the traffic down below on Roy street, but it wasn't a nuisance. The $37 fee for parking was steep, but it was nice to know our car was in a locked garage. The parking spots are small, it was a tight fit for my standard sized SUV. There is an additional amenities fee as well whether you use them or not. I was surprised that we had a knock on the door at 8:20 am for housekeeping, my kids were still sleeping. I asked them to come back after we checked out. They have bikes to ride for free, but they must be back by dusk. And, they have a free shuttle service, but it ends at 6 pm which is a problem if you want be picked up after dinner. Overall, the atmosphere of the hotel is fun and funky. The kids loved it. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be near the Museum of Pop Culture, the Space Needle, the Armory, the monorail, and other Seattle Center activities.
