Very good
Two night break in Norwich
Excellent standard of accommodation with good fixtures and fittings in a very stylish room which was spotlessly clean. Nice shower, comfortable bed and good toiletries with ample fluffy towels. All these things made for a very comfortable stay except the beautiful room we were allocated was directly over the kitchen. This was noisy as the vents for the fan extractors were attached to the exterior wall of the bathroom and were started very early for breakfast service, around 5.30 am and Were continuous until the food service was over, well after 10.00pm. A radio with loud music was also an accompaniment one morning, which was not a good start to the day. The staff were all very attentive and friendly although stretched with the lack of staff on the second morning. Plates had not been inspected when laid for breakfast due to dishwasher residue dried onto the surfaces but were quickly removed and replaced with clean ones. The food was excellent, well cooked with nice flavours, beautifully served and very tasty. Only a few little niggles, no tissues in the bedroom, mugs would be better for making a morning cuppa when there is no teapot and the tv was located too high on the wall for comfort, we had to move the sofa to avoid having a stiff neck! Thanks for the fan, it was needed in the heat wave. We couldn't have the window open due to the wasps nest in the brickwork or open the French windows onto the balcony. The Georgian Townhouse is very well located for town.

Good
I like this place. Generally a nice hotel with good bar and dinning facilities on site but a few issues. 1) a bitty tired and worn in places i.e. carpet up the stairs 2) I stayed in room 11 and the required angle of the shower head in order to point sufficiently downwards meant it kept falling out of the shower head bracket 3) at breakfast the waitress also had to do the checkouts, presumably because someone was late to work, which meant there were some waiting to place orders - one customer gave up waiting and had to ask the chef directly for his cooked breakfast 4) some of the younger staff need better restaurant training - we were asked the same questions by different people several times i.e. can I take your order, how’s your food, etc. One or two duplicate questions is ok but it went on and on so became annoying. Also, clearing plates away before everyone on the table has finished their meal is rude. 5) the mattress on the bed was so soft I almost hit the floor! On the positive side I liked the room, except for the bed. Checkin and checkout was painless and friendly. Food was good. Bar area was good.

Exceptional
Very pleasant stay!
The check-in was quick and convenient. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Looks like a 4-star rather than 3! The staff were really friendly and the hotel has an excellent location. 10 minutes walk from the city centre, and a bus stop to bus number 25 (from city centre/To Uni) right in front of the hotel/restaurant. The Steak at their restaurant was really good. The bar opens until quite late at night. The staff said they would be happy to stay if we would like to have desserts after our mains (even though they were supposed to go home already), so we let them go home, we were being treated so nicely. The only downside was no AC! One pleasant stay, definitely recommended. Will stay here again.

I wouldn't bother again!
Our room was over the kitchen so when staff were setting up for breakfast after parties, at around midnight and when they arrived early hours in the morning the door was constantly banging, there was no consideration for guest trying to sleep. Some staff were friendly and very nice, especially the housekeepers, however some were less than friendly or efficient and a smile would crack their face. This is not a cheap hotel and I expected better service all round. The bed was comfortable, however, there was no wardrobe or chest of drawers!

Great location. Parking was an issue when we arrived. Greeted by staff member who said we are busy parking first come first served basis. Reception staff really lovely and helpful but breakfast staff, didn’t smile and say good morning. Shower pressure awful, so much so we couldn’t shower in the evening,we were told known issue with our room, problem when kitchen busy, try to shower again in five minutes! And if not working by 11pm, phone the night porter. Received a refund of some of cost but stil felt room was over priced.
