Excellent hotel. Awesome view of the mountains from the room. Good restaurant with good free breakfast. Decent size room. Wifi works, Good location (a couple miles from park entrance). Highly Recommended

    Amazing mountain views

The hotel is quite overpriced, but that seems normal for Torres del Paine. It's about 10 minutes drive to the park entrance so the location is good (although far from the Torres trail). Views of the mountains were amazing, and our room was very comfortable and quiet. Only slight negative is that there are a lot of big groups, which makes the hotel less relaxing than it could be.

The property is ok. When you pull up to the front, it feels a lot like a US Hampton Inn - very average. The views of the Serena River are beautiful. The common areas are low-end US Hilton Quality. All in all...not a bad hotel...but, overpriced and a very corporate feel that is out of place. My issue is with the integrity of management. The excursion guides are top notch. However, Natalina (who manages the hotel and the excursion crew) is morally bankrupt. I was booking night to night at the hotel and on the last attempt, I was quoted $850 US dollars. No problem, I booked a hotel nearby. HERE'S WHERE THE DISHONESTY STARTED. The gentleman in with the excursion group told me there we be NO PROBLEM with a van ride to El Calafate as spaces were available. When they learned that I had opted out of the $850 rate (after paying $300 the two night before) ALL OF THE SUDDEN THERE WAS NO VAN SPACE. They tell me "check be back at 8 pm". Then, Natalina says something like the van is "pretty full". I stayed and ate at the hotel for 2 nights and booked excursions on both days. Because I wouldn't pay their inflated rate Natalina told me that there is "no room" just after her employee told me there was "no problem" DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE LOSERS. I told them on the spot that this was BAD BUSINESS and that I would be writing a review. US hotels KNOW BETTER and I've never written a negative review on a hotel before. EVER. Given the level of Natalina's dishonesty, I am making an exception.

    Notes from a December visit.

The view and property are beautiful and well located. The views toward the mountains are amazing. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend taking the all day Torres tour with Jose Cox, and excellent guide. I would advise guests to rent their own car to be able to do some self guiding in the park on your own schedule. The reservation staff (Ingrid) will try to talk you out of it in order to sell the all inclusive package. Also, be super careful when booking, because the property will not adjust your dates because of their “policy” of no changes/no refunds. So, great property, but you really have to have your logistics nailed down before booking final.

This is a place that caters to buses of old people. If that’s not your demographic then you won’t love it. Feels very generic and bland. Views are great but it’s an hour from any of the good hiking in Torres.

    We LOVED it!

Such a great stay at the Rio Serrano! We ended up staying here by default - we planned a last minute trip and it was the only high end hotel in/adjacent to Torres Del Paine. What a lucky accident! We looked online at the Hotel Torres, Lago Grey and Explora. When we saw each of them in real life, we were perfectly happy with our choice. Rooms were great - amazing view of the mountains and a great pool/spa. I didn’t think we’d really use it, but after long days out, a sauna and swim (free) were perfect. After having seen the others in real life, I would still choose the Rio Serrano if I visit again (altogether the view of the glaciers from the Lago Grey is pretty cool).
