    Very good 8.0
    Beautiful hotel
Nice hotel, but the service is not 4,5 stars and a little too pricey for what you get. Room is tiny, as i understood it we even got upgraded but room was still super small, bathroom a little old with a small showercabinet. When checking in the lady at the desk did it very quickly and spoke on the phone at the same time, which is not super welcoming. No one helped with our luggage at the entrance or bringing it up to the room, and when coming back to the hotel most of time the receptionists didn't even noticed us to say hello or greet us. These are features and hospitalities i would expect from a 4+ hotel. Also cleaning knocked on our door and wanted to clean even though we had the "do not disturb" sign out, on the day of checking out she knocked on our door at 8am to see if we were in and once again a few hours later which was just stressing and unneccesary since we were going to check out in 40 minutes. When we got there friday afternoon we wanted to book a massage in the wellness-center but they did not have any avalaibe appointments until monday noon which was a little dissapointing since we were supposed to leave by then. Very very nice breakfast on the otherhand! Overall a very beautiful, clean and nice hotel but a bit too expensive for what you get service-wise in my opinion. I would have expected a bit moore to make our stay special!

Will be back in Budapest, never stay here again
Checking in was not a problem, very polite blonde ladies behind the desk. I was supposed to meet a friend, I thought it would be cool to be playing the piano when she arrived, I asked the reception as there was a warning sign on the piano and was it was generally cool till a fattish guy refused and told that if they let me play, they would have to let everyone *like me* (10+ a day) to play even if its just for a few minutes. I'm a semi-pro pianist, I find it hard to believe that there are around 10+ (like me - pro pianists) who stay there everyday and ask to play the piano.I looked at the back and didnt find a queue of pianists behind me either. There was a fattish guy behind the desk who was adamant about not letting me play even for a minute, the rest were quite cool and didn't mind. Then another day, I was told that it's just a showpiece, a showpiece that someone was playing on Friday. I stayed there for 5 nights. When I told my friend about this, she took me to Hotel Aria, they let me play a _beautiful_ Hungarian designer piano there even though I was *not* a guest staying there. It was just mean (or being a d*ck), and that's something I am NOT used to in Hungary, people there are generally really really kind to visitors. Other than the above: Breakfast is a nice spread Spa is small but good enough Room has no cooling, only heating, so if you're hot... open the window but then good luck sleeping if you are a light sleeper. All other staff were cool.

    Very good 8.0
Hotel is a beautifully restored building that was formerly a thermal spa. It was a real pleasure to be in the space and it's an elegant hotel. Breakfast was a real treat, with a change of menu every morning. Possibly the best breakfast selection I've had in the world. It's also in a great location for sightseeing so from all those perspectives I would recommend it. We'd asked for 2 single beds and the room was tiny! The beds were pushed together but we managed to make some space between them, but only just! One chair and toiletries for one person. I asked for a suite or a bigger room and was happy to pay for the difference but was told those rooms only had one big bed. They reasoned that it was because it's a city centre hotel. Having stayed in city centres all over the world, that was nonsense. We were there for 4 nights and on the last night they took our towels and didn't replace them and didn't make up the beds. That contrasted to the first night when we had chocolates on the pillow. So, it's bit inconsistent. Having said all of that, I appreciated the lovely gesture by the Manager Gabor to mark my birthday. Despite the flaws, I would probably return to the Continental as it's good value for money ,well situated and comfortable. But we might get 2 rooms next time!

    Poor 2.0
First, 10000 HUF disappeared from room desk inside an currency exchange bag. While checking out, hotel staff at concierge claims no one entered the room. LIE(1). The room was done as the bed was made and towel changed. General Manager comes, asking information about last night. He insist it was the guest’s problem not to use the safe for the money, anything that is valuable should be place at the safe or handle to the hotel staff. For previous experience, my laptop was taken from the safe and left wide open, that I’ll never trust the safe as clearly hotel staff has ABSOLUTE access to safes. The GENERAL MANAGER consistently repeats saying “I accused hotel staff of STEALING my HUF”. Without respect given say, “there’s nothing I can do” x20 times he said. He did not apologize for any loss that was made and neither give any sense of help or open an investigation. The MANAGER made the staff at concierge explain what she had said, saying “the room was open once with the supervisor checked”. LIE(2) in front of the MANAGER and me. Conclusion: Staff can’t do anything Manager can’t do anything I can’t do anything but write a review

    Exceptional 10.0
The hotel is beautiful, the moment you walk the the revolving doors a gorgeous aroma of scent catches your attention along with the wonderful decor & detail, particularly the arched ceiling. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We were given an upgrade to a superior room & our friends also which was a lovely touch. The rooms had very large beds & the shower was amazing, everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. In the evening we sat in the piano bar & relaxed to the beautiful music played by the pianist. The hotel is in a great location for the ruin bars, cafes, trams etc... I only had one little quibble, and that was a dirty mark in one of the sheets but I wouldn’t let that effect my review. We loved the hotel. We had a late flight & had to check out at 12pm, we were all very impressed that they allowed us to use the hotel facilities for the rest of the day ( spa & rooftop pool) which was fabulous by the way & a massive bonus because we didn’t fancy walking around the city all day in 30 degree heat before traveling home. I will recommend it to others & wouldn’t hesitate to return :)
