Great budget place to stay in Melbourne with a few quirks.
The room was very small but clean. We shared a double bed that was quite comfortable. There was a table and one chair, a mini-fridge, kettle, and fan. The wifi was terrific.
The shared bathrooms are down the hall, there were three singles that offered a bit more privacy, and then a large one with multiple stalls and showers. Though the hotel seemed pretty full, I never had to use the group bathroom. The shower was nice and hot.
There was a shared kitchen on the roof, but we didn't use it. It was empty both times we went up there though.
One thing to note for international travelers, the front door is locked with a keypad. When you arrive the check in, there is a phone number so you can call reception (which is located up a flight of stairs) so they can let you in. We didn't have a local SIM card to make a local call, but luckily someone came down as we were trying to figure out what to do and let us in. Once you check in they give you the code to the door so you can get in. Also note reception is not 24-hours, they emailed us with hours after we made the reservation, I think they were only present from like 9-7 or something like that.
If the check in process works for you, then definitely recommended.
