Excellent amenities and room quality. Perfect for our purposes. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we arrived in NYC from a red-eye off very little sleep and they were kind enough to hold our bags and let us check in a few hours early for a short afternoon nap. Convenient location close to subway stop that goes straight into Manhattan. It should be noted that the area in the South Bronx surrounding the hotel is on the sketchier side (although we always felt completely safe and comfortable in the hotel). It didn't bother me but guests sensitive to drug use, trash on streets, etc may want to reconsider their stay. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Thank you Melrose Hotel for one of the best trips of my life.

The hotel is great. Close to subway, shops and food. Only issue and this is at no fault of the hotel but up the street from the hotel the bums are everywhere begging. Just be careful but was a great stay.
