Great beachfront location & lovely hinterland view
The hotel is located on absolute beachfront and centred in a beautiful, quieter part of Surfers Paradise (albeit a new hotel development is being built nearby, but the noise wasn't loud at all on floor 36) . However, it's only a short walk to cafes, restaurants, clubs/ bars and shopping centres at Surfers Paradise or Broachbeach. The tram stop is nearby at Florida Gardens if you feel like exploring beyond the Surfers Paradise area. There's also a bus stop right outside the hotel. Lola's Cafe is down the road (which is great for coffee, fresh juices or light meals/ pizza); or try the Surf Club a few doors down (great for breakfast). Otherwise, just order a supermarket home delivery service etc and make delicious homemade meals in the unit's great kitchen with spectacular ocean/ beach views. Overall, the amenities were very good (considering it's not the most recent development) and the one bedroom magnolia unit was positively lovely i.e. very spacious, light, clean, airy, cosy/ homely and featured breathtaking hinterland views (with gorgeous sunsets!) and beach views from the open plan lounge/ dining room. Moreover, at night, you can watch the twinkling stars from your bed and fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves. Yes, a totally blissful, cosy and relaxing place to stay. Lastly, the staff were lovely, very friendly & very helpful too. All in all, a great place for a family holiday, romantic getaway or peaceful solitary retreat ~ very highly recommended!!

They Made Us Feel Valued
Our apartment was really nice. Unfortunately the weather wasn't. During our first night the wind was so strong that the balustrades, which had been recently renewed on the balcony of our apartment, were humming so loud that the noise woke us and stopped us from getting back to sleep. We went to reception the next morning to see what could be done. Jo, who was on duty at the time, managed to find us another apartment on the lee side, despite being close to fully booked. The first apartment had been recently refitted and was very impressive. Our replacement wasn't quite as nice, but was much quieter and we didn't hesitate to take it. Jo's response and attitude to our problem was a perfect example of how to get the best out of an awkward situation. She took ownership of something that wasn't her fault and not once did she make us feel like we were a nuisance. On that basis alone, I would highly recommend Aquarius. It's location, within walking distance of both Surfers and Broadbeach combined with the high quality of the units, are bonuses that make it a desirable choice for accommodation on the Gold Coast.

Great views, huge apartment but very old/out dated
Upon arrival the foyer was under construction so staff came out and checked us in, in the drive way. Staff were lovely, but were unaware we had requested a cot. This was quickly rectified, and the $50 fee waived for the inconvenience. The apartment was massive. We had a corner balcony with amazing views from the river, right across Surfers Paradise to sweeping views of the beach and ocean. Very impressive! The apartment itself was in need of a renovation. The bathrooms and kitchen had been updated, and were lovely. But the living areas had old, stained carpet and cracks in the ceiling. The furniture that looked like it had jumped straight out of the 1980s. Everything just felt very worn and at the very least, in need of a good clean! The property's pools and facilities were good, and location great. Directly on the beach and within walking distance to Cavill Av in one direction and Broadbeach shops/cafes the other. The other disappointment for us was the construction. It meant access to the rooms/facilities was via the basement car park, or a series of gates and stairs... quite difficult to manouvre with a baby in a pram. It was also really noisy at times, with loud drilling and banging we could hear from our bedrooms. Overall it wasn't bad, but I was disappointed that we weren't forewarned about the construction... and our particular apartment would benefit greatly from an upgrade!!

Never Again
Upon arrival, Bec was kind enough to allow me to check in a few hours early which was nice, however her customer service skills were lacking. 1) I sat in reception for 15 min listening to her have a conversation with one of the landlords about rent and drumming up new business etc whilst she knew I was waiting for my key (not something a customer wants to be privy to or hear) 2) She was quite rude and I had to ask her 4 times on 4 seperate occasions to organise fresh linen Whilst the apartment building was nice and in a great location, my particular apartment (32E) was extremely old and dated and NOTHING like the pictures shown on your website. The furniture was extremely dated and the bathrooms were awful. Simple things like giving it a dust, a lick of paint and replacing the old crappy furnishings would make a huge difference.

Surfers Aquarius Beats the Rest
I've stayed at four (4) different service apartments during my holiday at Gold Coast but none of them top Surfers Aquarius. In fact, one (1) service apartment costs a lot more than Surfers Aquarius but it couldn't beat Surfers Aquarius. From the unit's layout, the furniture, the kitchen, the bathroom and even the balcony, Surfers Aquarius beats the rest. I would highly recommend you to stay here. Definitely value for money. It's just a walking distance to the beach. It felt luxurious and homey and the TV had like a hundred channels. The receptionist was friendly. The apartment unit was very spacious compare to other service apartments I stayed. I love my bedroom cause it has this very soft carpet underneath. Not like those typical carpet you'll find in hotels. At the entrance, it also has shoe rack/cabinet with door so you keep your shoes neatly. The kitchen area was spacious and the dining area was huge. Definitely will come here again.
