8/10 Very good

We were only there for one night. It was a good place just to stay over night. Staff was really friendly. I’d used the Rex again in the future. Thank You!!

10/10 Exceptional

Nice, small but comfortable room. Great location for a hotel. 1 train subway entrance at the end of the block, numerous restaurants across the street, museums around the corner and right by the old city hall. And all for a great price compared to the nearby hotels.

Jazz Shows Twice Nightly!
The room was swept and wiped down before arrival. Noticed a few stray hairs from previous renters / staff were on linens. Never requested services, staff member at desk was there during normal hours for standard questions and help. The afternoon and evening shows were very audible from Room 108 (single), so other rooms in the area I expect were getting two free shows every night. No central air, so the room got *cold*, but small space heater helps reduce energy usage and allows renters to decide when it is needed. Extra blanket from drawer a must. I opted for a private bath— uh, washroom, which was helpful, but given that I was up at strange and unpopular times, probably unnecessary. Small TV for checking local weather, etc, and desk for … desk things. Went to Tevet Sela’s show. Music was excellent. Sold out except for one single stool against the window, which I happily took. Buy your tickets early! Food a bit pricey, but good. You’re there for the whole package.

6/10 Good

Fine I guess
Hotel was fine. It was a bed to sleep in with no frills. The wifi was terrible, the door was off of its rails, and the shower didn’t feel all too cleanly.

Goldilocks place - not fancy,not a dive,just right
The Rex provided a great, economical, place to rest our heads after a day in the City. Kind of a Goldilocks place - nothing fancy; nothing wrong. Just right. Really enjoyed the music, and breakfast was perfect. I’ll be back!
