Our stay in Tokyo had some positives, but overall it didn’t meet our expectations. The apartment itself was quite spacious, especially for Tokyo standards, with three bedrooms, and the location was in a nice area. The amenities were good and the space worked well for a family.
Unfortunately, several issues really affected our experience. The washer/dryer combo did not work well at all and left our clothes full of lint after washing and drying. The biggest problem, however, was the beds, pillows, and bedding — they were extremely uncomfortable and ended up being the main reason our rating is so low, as it made it difficult to get good rest during our stay.
We were also disappointed that the sauna required an additional fee for guests staying in the apartment, which wasn’t clearly listed beforehand. Lastly, the laminate flooring throughout the apartment was shifting and moving underfoot, which made the place feel poorly maintained.
Overall, while the size of the apartment and the neighborhood were positives, the comfort and maintenance issues made the stay less enjoyable than we had hoped.
