4/10 Fair
4 out of 10 FairI don’t normally leave reviews on unpleasant hotel experiences however my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds city centre was very disappointing. 1. The rooms are old and run down. The carpets in both rooms we booked needed clear replacing. 2. The heating didn’t work in one room. 3. No water, robes, slippers, bathroom products, and an empty fridge (no mini bar at all to buy from). 4. We ordered 3 beef hot dogs at the restaurant/bar. We got served pork instead and once reported to the restaurant manager, we were initially offered one free dessert and one meal removed from the bill even though the three of us that ordered beef do not eat pork at all. After much back and forth, the issue was finally resolved however it was disappointing that the issue was only resolved because of push back from us. Overall I would not recommend staying here. All issues mentioned above (except for point 4) are minor issues, however are disappointing when you pay high prices for what is advertised as a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in many Hilton hotels and also DoubleTree by Hilton hotels around the world and this was by far the worst one I have stayed in. The only good part was the lovely lady at the counter that checked us in (I wish I got her name so I could give her a mention).
