Location was excellent, right off James Street, with plenty of restaurants, pubs, grocery stores nearby. Also close to the beach promenade and Palace Pier. The hotel is on the older side, but still very comfortable, good hot water, great mattress. Owner Claudia was always available to answer questions and gove recommendations. Thanks for helping me with my suitcase!

The room was clean, the staff were really helpful. Charlotte was super helpful and lovely. The single room felt homely. The bathroom was very clean. It was nice and quiet which was exactly what I needed. The bedding was soft and comfortable. The only thing I'd say is the mattress was very springy and dipped in the middle so I think a new mattress may be better. Apart from that it was lovely and I definitely would stay here again. Thank you so much

Honestly felt I might have been taking a bit of a risk booking a room at the price I paid for my stay as a woman travelling on her own but found the room to be peaceful and well kitted out and the staff really lovely and helpful. Clean and updated room and furnishings in an original style. Good access to the town, seafront and local eateries. Our room would not have been suitable for individuals with mobility issues, but I seem to remember that was in the hotel blurb. It wasn't a problem for us.

Everything was clean and tidy. A quaint room on the top floor. A very warm welcome from Charlotte of Charlotte Street. I think in all my years of staying in the UK going to many gigs Charlotte has to be the most genuinely friendly and most beautiful person I have met. Only one minor thing the shower didn’t have much power. I have just changed a booking to stay there next time I’m in Brighton. You also get discounts at local eateries
