Good 6.0
Reception lady was helpful with assisting us for getting tickets for a day trip the next day. Older man at front desk was not as friendly nor helpful. Good and convenient location. Lots of places to walk to to eat. Breakfast was good. Coffee machine needed attention and was attended to but not fully fixed. Haze it coffee still didn’t work. Second day of our stay, after first cleaning, washcloths were not replenished. Room is very small. Elevator is super small. We gave reception our bag for laundry service Monday before 9am. Supposed to have it back after 7:30pm same day but we didn’t have it, not even the NEXT DAY. We finally received bag back when we checking out Wednesday morning. It was never picked up to be cleaned!!! Bathroom had some wear &tear. Our room had a small blood(?) stain on the sheer curtain.

Poor 2.0
Money lost Poor Attitude of staff
We left the small bag on the bed ( forgot to bring ) Once discovered that, we already instantly back to the hotel, however, the cleaning lady has already cleaned our room and the bag has been disappeared, the bag has more than 3000 Euro inside( HKD 25000 + EUR 400+ GBP 80). We told that to the receptionist at 8pm and he told me he has nothing to do, even being reluctant to instantly report to the manager. He just said he will report to the receptionist who were here in next morning and told me come down at 9am. When I come down at 9am, the morning receptionist did not know anything( that mean the night receptionist didn’t report to her), but she said she will report to the manager. However, her attitude is not care about our complaint and loss. She told us she will tell the manager instantly. After we finished the breakfast, we asked her again that whether she has told her manager and when would she come down. And the reality is the manager has already come down at the early moment but the receptionist didn’t tell the manager (forgot again). After the manager noticed our situation, she instantly felt unbelievable and she said ‘ She 100% TRUST her staff’. After we requested her to investigate again and again, she finally promised us to investigate and tell us the result 1-2 hours later. When we intend to check out from the hotel, they weren’t initiative to tell us the result. And we needed to ask the receptionist again and the manager

Exceptional 10.0
Perfect Boutique Hotel with Great Staff
We stayed at Hotel Gabriel for 6 nights and had a very lovely stay. We arrived earlier than our check-in time but they were able to store our luggage and there was a washroom in the cozy lobby to freshen up after our long flight. We were given a free upgrade to a larger room. I've stayed in other hotel rooms in Parisian hotels before and this one had a decent amount of space. The decor was new and modern and the room was comfortable. We had a lovely view facing the back. The only complaint is that the shower should have a larger piece of glass or a shower curtain to prevent water from pouring out during a shower! The breakfast was in a small open space on the ground level and had hot and cold items, although the hot items were usually depleted pretty quickly. They're really good about replenishing if you ask. There was a fancy little Nespresso machine. One morning it was so busy at breakfast, they ran out of mini croissants and someone at the hotel rushed out the a nearby boulangerie to bring back fresh, full sized croissants! They were delicious. The location was very close to the Republique Metro station and it was very easy to get around. The walk to Le Marais took about 10 minutes but it was a nice walk. There are bakeries and grocery stores nearby and everything was very convenient. The staff was just fantastic. They were so warm and helpful. I highly recommend this boutique hotel.

Great boutique hotel conveniently located
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to a metro station, 2 boulangeries and a mini-market. We had capucchinos and croissants at one of the boulangeries every morning. We also purchased ready-made fresh baguette sandwiches for lunch. Place de la Republique was nearby in easy walking distance. We purchased Hop On Hop Off tickets and the bus stop was there too. The open air bus was a great way to see the city and orient yourself. An audio guide explained what you were seeing. We had great weather during our 3 day stay in Paris. We also took the metro everywhere and bought 10 tickets at once (cheaper). Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking to do. We visited the major sites but we never rushed. We wanted to take in the ambiance of the city. What we missed we will visit on the next time around. We drank wine and sat at the terraces and people watched just like the Parisians. Funny to see all the chairs facing the sidewalks for this pleasant activity. We walked along the Seine and took the river boat cruise in the evening to see the city lit up at night. Witnessed the Eiffel Tower being lit up and on the hour, every hour, all the lights twinkle - a very pleasant sight. We never felt in danger although there was a strong police presence. At every attraction you have to go through security measures. Sad to think that this is reality now. Paris is a wonderful city and we will visit again.

Small clean hotel
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very small room but efficiently used every inch of space except for one closet for hanging clothes that was taken up in large part by the safe. However, it was difficult to manage 2 regular size suitcases especially as there was only one suitcase stand. Two stands would be much better but not sure where they would put the 2nd one. The elevator is typically very small and can get tied up when the staff are using it for room cleaning. It took quite a while to get our bags down to the lobby on departure. Maybe the staff could give preference to guests. The location was a bit on the fringe but convenient access to the Metro making it easy to get around the city and then back to the hotel at the end of the day. We could not find a bathroom fan and so the small room could get a bit damp especially after 2 showers and there was a little bit of mould starting in the shower (not enough to concern me) which could be easily addressed and likely due to no fan to extract the steam. The room in spite of being very small was bright, clean, contemporary and inviting. The bed and linens were good and comfortable. Together with other family members, we had 3 rooms in total. We all had the same comments about our rooms. In spite of the little issues we would likely stay here again.
