Highly recommended. Love love love this hotel
I like the hotel so much from checked in to check out is excellent. All the staff are very friendly especially Miss Kai, she’s awesome and excellent customer service. She’s looking after us very well. Breakfast selection is good, we got roses and lot of freebies snacks like chocolate, biscuits, nuts and juices. I will definitely come back in this hotel and I will recommend this place to my relatives and friends.

Fantastic service, lovely building, great food. Free breakfast was awesome as was the complimentary dinner and drinks. Free upgrade was a bonus as were the free bag of ‘snacks’ and regular platters of fresh fruit left in our room. Fresh flowers in room, rosebuds on pillows every night a lovely touch. we were very comfy. Great area, good tourist info at hotel, night markets easy walk. Free airport transfers a bonus. Our 3 nights turned into 9! Only negative? Perhaps the Bathroom could do with updating

Not the hotel it once was
We regularly stay at The Empress when visiting Chiang Mai and return for good reason; you are treated so well by the staff. Whilst the staff do a good job, we did find some shortcomings and changes which impacted out experience. 1) The poolside service used to be great and you could ring a bell and staff would tend to you. Not any more though, you have to go up to the counter and order. 2) The price you see (for drinks and food) is not the price you pay. They will add VAT (7%) and Service(10%), so for example a gin & tonic costs about 230 baht (£6ish) but in the end costs more like £7, which is getting on for London prices, and will contain very little actual gin. 3) Happy hour is now buy 2 get 1 free, rather then buy 1 get 1 free. The staff were as always very respectful and courteous, with all staff greeting you and being polite as always. We had an issue with our room in that a family with 2 small (very noisy) children were screaming, and it was no trouble for them to find is a new room, but I would suggest that couples should not be placed in rooms adjacent to young families in a hotel of this calibre. It is still a nice hotel and in a good location, however next time I will look to book a different hotel when staying in Chiang Mai.

Hotel with the best service.
Only stayed here for the one night but it was the best service I have ever had from a hotel and I stay at a lot with work. On my next trip to Chiang mai I will definitely use this hotel for my main stay. A goody bag was given to us when we returned at night and they gave us a free airport transfer service in the morning. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great hospitality !
This hotel has amazing hospitality. From the crazy multi course dinner to bringing snacks to your room. The staff helped us feel so comfortable and arranged tours for us flawlessly. This is an amazing place to stay for the price. It is s little outside the old city but we used grab very easily and never had a ride that was more than $5.00
