Budget, even by budget standards
The hotel was actually quite disappointing. The location was the only saving grace. The rooms are fit for one occupant only. The rooms have no air conditioning, fans or windows that open more than an inch or two which makes them unbearable through summer. The only factor (other than the relative price to other properties nearby) is that it is in a great location for a quick tourist visit.

Absolutely perfect! In every way!
Absolutely wonderful. We got there late at night and they had very easy instructions on how to access our room. There was an elevator, the room was small but adorable. They had a bathtub, very clean room and nice bed. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the markets, main square, train stations etc.

Location was great, but that's where the good stuff stops. Staff horribly rude, very unaccommodating and unhelpful.

Do-it-yourself hotel has great location
The Hotel Falkenturm was pretty much of a "do-it-yourself" hotel. We got there late at night and found a note on the door with our name on it, instructing us to enter a code to get the key to unlock the door. (It turned out the reception desk closes at 10:00 p.m. every night.) It was somewhat hilarious as we tried to figure out how to enter the code (based on date of departure, but listed in the European way, with the year first, then day, then month). The room was small and had no phone, so even if someone had been at the desk, there was no way to contact them. Having said all this, however, I still would recommend this hotel, as it was very reasonably priced and in a great location -- down the street from a well-known bar called Pussens, and just a very short walk away from the 500-year old beer hall called the Hofbrauhaus. It was also a short walk from the Marinplatz, which contains the ancient Town Hall, from which amazing figures come out of a clock tower three times a day. From the Marinplatz, it's a short subway to the Central Station, where one can catch a bus to the airport.
