8/10 Very good

Charming hotel in a splendid location.
I think we will return to this lovely new hotel, even though they have a few kinks to work out. My friend and I are American expat retirees in Georgia. We prefer to live seaside in balmy Batumi, but we enjoy trips to Tbilisi maybe twice a month. Since our usual hotels were full, we decided to try this new one, and were pleasantly surprised. The best part is its location on Agmashenebeli Avenue, perhaps Tbilisi's widest and most beautiful street. It has wide stone sidewalks with trees and classic stone architecture pre-dating the dreadful Soviet period. It's stylish Chugereti neighborhood has low-rise buildings, so it is less densely-populated than most of Tbilisi. Less cars and people, and quieter, yet centrally-located and very convenient to everything. We come by train, and it is just a few blocks from Tbilisi Central Station. The retrofitted tiny hotel shares a fine old building with several other businesses. They did a great job renovating and decorating their space on the second floor. Tasteful color scheme with a lot of nice wood. High ceilings. Big pleasant lobby. Good bathrooms and hot water. Good beds. My room had a desk but no chair, and my friend's room had a chair but no desk. Wifi works reliably, but slower than most hotels here. It was almost 11pm when we arrived, and they were unaware of our prepaid reservation for two rooms, two nights. It was hard to convince them. I suspect this is a family just learning the business. They turned out to be nice
