Outstanding Staff & Service

We spent a week here and wish it had been longer! The stunning mountains and lakes provide a back drop to a brilliant staff and service. Plenty to does at the Inn and the region without needing a car. Wonderful breakfast and dinner options at the Inn and take advantage of the daily activities listed in the Rossl Post. You made our Anniversary truly special. Thank you to Johann and Stephanie especially.

Historic hotel was an excellent choice for a 3 night holiday. Loved the outdoor swimming pool which was very warmby the lake. Also very nice to test out the lake swimming pool next to it to get an idea of actual temperature. Breakfast was superb especially the made to order omelettes, fried eggs, real honeycomb and different assortment of breads including especially delicious cheese rolls. Waiters and waitresses were very attentive. A daily Rossl Post kept you informed of events in the coming 24 hours. We took the Schafberg cog railway up to the top of the mountains which was expensive but well worth it. Book ahead if you know it will be a sunny and clear day as it was incredible. Make sure you take good shoes with grip and go right to the top. The room of hotel was incredible and the view out on to the lake was breathtaking. Staff on reception were very attentive to your needs and when we turned up at hotel we were greeted with glass of prosecco. A nice touch! If the bank balance can take it, I shall definitely be heading back!

we stayed at the Hotel im Weissen Roessl in September 2026. We loved our stay. The Hotel is right in the pedestrian area and directly on the lake. The room is beautiful but the amenities like the heated pool, spa and direct access to the lake ensured we hardly stayed in the room. Breakfast is delicious and service is outstanding. The only thing which could be improved is to provide better information for people arriving by car. We got confused driving in the pedestrian area to unload the luggage and had to drive car back out to the car parking area which is outside the pedestrian zone. Ideal would be a shuttle for the luggage to the hotel from the parking area avoiding to have to drive into the pedestrian only zone.

Service Failure: Evening reception staff refused to help or contact management. Faulty Equipment: The provided rollaway bed had a broken stopper, wasting the entire first night. Issues were only resolved the next day. Demand: Compensation for poor 24/7 service and unacceptable room standards., The coffee was from a low-quality machine—bland and tasteless—rather than professionally made. The pastries were also of poor quality, with the croissants being completely bland. For a hotel of this standard, we expected a much higher quality breakfast experience.

I loved my stay (second time) at this beautiful and genteel property. It isn’t your fault but my neighbors were having extremely loud sex in the wee hours of the morning. I thought the woman was being murdered at first. It went on and on and on. Other than that everything was peaceful and serene. I think she was having a wonderful time. It was just a bit obnoxious and probably scary for the children who heard it bouncing off the lake and mountains😬😘I appreciate all you do to make your guests happy and welcome and appreciated. I loved my driver to the Salzburg train station, it was the second time he’s driven me to get to the places I need to be to start my journey back to Florida. If I could figure out a way I would love to live in beautiful St. Wolfgang❤️❤️❤️

Das Weisse Rössl ist sehr zentral und schön am See gelegen. Die Aussicht im Zimmer auf den See könnte schöner sein. Wir hatten eine Aussicht auf den Hinterhof und die Berge. Vom See war leider aus dem Zimmer nichts zu sehen. Schade. Dafür aber im restaurant und am Liegesteg eine sehr tolle Aussicht.

Definitely not value for money

All the staff we dealt with were great, but the hotel itself was definitely not value for money. It was confusing, difficult to navigate (we were told the incorrect lift to take which resulted in a long time trying to actually find our room). In the room there were several large cobwebs which were not removed during the entire week we stayed and dead bugs on the wall which had been clearly squashed by previous visitors also remained. The pillows were dreadful and had to be all stacked up on one side to be usable. One day the towels provided were fine, however the next day they were so small it might as well have been a hand towel. Overall, disappointing for the amount it cost, was expecting more luxury.

I read mixed reviews, but I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Yes, the hotel is a little bit dated, but I feel that adds to its charm. I enjoyed a relaxing stay and took full advantage of the pool, hot tub, saunas, and steam rooms. The breakfast was delicious--great variety and tasty food. The view can't be beat. I appreciated that the hotel provided a tote bag, slippers, and robes. And the mini-bar prices were very reasonable, so we didn't need to leave the hotel for a drink.
