Good 6.0
Property conveniently located for Royal Marsden and Brompton Hospital’s. Have stayed before, but this visit was disappointing. Rooms in the property are small generally but Room 9 was the worst we have stayed in sold as a higher grade room, it is very small, with no central heating. The bedroom heating is via an aging electric wall heater and bathroom a Creda electric towel rail. Could not get AC unit to work at all until Duty Manager wove some magic at reception. Room was clean, simple but spartan, on the upside cleanliness was as usual good. The hotel suffers from percolating noise as widely recognised. This is in part probably due to the wooden floors but further contributed to by thin walls and, in the case of room nine, the wooden floor above accentuated people and furniture being moved around upstairs.

Nice Hotel, great location
The staff at Sydney Hotel were excellent in all ways. They made the stay very enjoyable. The hotel is two blocks from South Kensington Subway station and there are many good restaurants in close walking distance. The hotel is in a residential area that is very attractive. This is a small hotel with a tiny lobby and a very small elevator. One piece of luggage and one person would fill be the elevator. Our room faced the street and it could be very noisy at times. The bathroom is modern and nicely furnished with toiletries, towels etc. There is not a restaurant on site but room service is available and a made to order breakfast is available. The internet connections are fast and free. The staff and the location make this a hotel I would book again.

Great location, Cozy & adequately sized rooms
Staff were very pleasant, they failed to tell me we can get free coffee and drinks downstairs/at the lobby :) 2 things to improve: 1. TVs in rooms can be a tad bigger, and by a tad, I guess two folds at least 2. bathroom sink tap position means 1/2 water in sink, 1/2 water eventually on bathroom floor The hotel is clean, rooms are OK size at least, staff is pleasant, there is a small elevator if you cant climb the narrow stairs. didnt try breakfast, but there is an amazing open market restaurant down the road with amazing breakfast, and many more near the station the hotel is right between (5 ~ 100 minutes walking Kings road and South Kingston stations, with a couple of bus stops even closer.

Good 6.0
Nice understated hotel in a great location, rooms were small but cozy. King size bed was just two twins pushed together so there was an odd seam through the middle of the bed which made sleeping a bit odd. The food is subpar. Coffee was weak and watery, the £20 eggs Benedict was nothing more than two poached eggs with hollandaise, prosciutto, and English muffins. Same with my wife’s £20 eggs, feta, and avocado. It was literally just that eggs, feta, avocado on toast with no sauce. I would recommend staying there but do not eat there as food was just a waste of money and left us still hungry.

Exceptional 10.0
Sydney House overdelivers.
Hard for me to give 5 stars as we stay in some top top hotels. But for this area and for the price this is one of our options to stay on a regular basis. The service was excellent and both reception staff were fantastic, happy, helpful and always prepared to help. Very professional. Loved the location and the room although rather small was otherwise lovely. Bed was comfortable and linen lovely. Bathroom just looking as if it will need some attention soon. Otherwise we will definitely be staying here again.
