We booked two rooms since there was 4 of us. We checked in and the room wasn’t cleaned. It still had the previous guests hair everywhere. No soap and missing 2 medium size towels in the bathroom and no complimentary water in the room like our other room had. Went to the front desk. She didn’t apologize and didn’t seem to care this happened. She said their cleaner is gone for the night (we checked in at 18:30hrs). Offered another room. Took her while a while to look one up. I told her that I was going to go upstairs to talk to my husband and will be back. My husband went back down and she stated if we didn’t want another room, she would change the sheets in this one and clean it which we agreed to as we wanted to be on the same floor. We went out and came back close to midnight. The room wasn’t cleaned, no toiletries put in and told ran out of water. The bed was made so untidy, my kids do a better job. I sucked it up till I found a PUBIC hair in the sink. I went down to complain but the male at the desk kept saying “well she offered you a different room” which made me angry cause she was suppose to have cleaned this one!Next day we went out and came back at 4pm- both rooms weren’t clean. Stayed that way all night. Had to go down to front desk to get towels. Third day we left. Manager was at the desk who didn’t know anything as to what was going on. Didn’t charge us for the taxes. Said he was going to call Expedia to see if they can reimbursing us some payment. Didnt hear back.

The hotel is on a busy street and even with the windows closed, you can still hear the hustle and bustle of the cars. The AC is locked and you can't really adjust anything and it was hot so we either had to sleep in a warm room or open the windows and try to sleep through the noise. Don't let the picture fool you, the room is the size of a typical powder room. The concierge can't seem to make any decisions and seem to always require a manager (who's typically not around). Concierge staff don't seem to communicate with each other which leaves us with no peace of mind. When we tried to confirm a late checkout with a staff, we were greeted with "I can't do a late checkout, please talk to the manager in the morning". That's all he kept saying when we just wanted to confirm the late checkout. All he had to do was check his computer which he refused. And of course this escalated to an argument and to the manager the next morning who did nothing to resolve the issue but instead she just defended his actions. Avoid at all costs.

Good 6.0
The location of this hotel was excellent with easy access to several metro and train lines. Room is bit tiny but very clean. Nevertheless, the staff are not very weeping welcoming...when I checked in, the VIP offers were not offered and when I asked about it two days later, the staff was very skeptical and, instead of asking his own staff, kept asking me why those were not offered at check in, and said they had to ask their manager again! Some staff were not very good in English. One was particularly rude, with no name tag on his uniform...I returned to the hotel at about 2200hrs on the third night of stay and could not open that huge heavy glass door. Then I knocked on the door for some attention. That staff with no name tag turned up from somewhere and rudely said the door was locked and I south should ring the bell. How on earth could I know as I had been returning to the hotel much later than 2200hrs the previous nights and the door was not locked! Also no one had mentioned anywhere anyhow that there was such a lock-door rule. The staff was so rude and maybe I interrupted his rest time. The wall was quite thin and you could hear the next door talking and cleansing staff rolling their vacuum cleaner. Overall, not a particularly impressive stay.

This property is in a quiet area. We felt safe in that neighborhood. It is a close less than 5 minute walk to both the Cadet and Poisonierre metro stations. Monmartre and the Louvre is also walking distance about a mile or 2,but we alternated between Metro or Uber. There's a convenience store across the street only open at night. It is about 2 minute walk to the Monoprix grocery. Close to restaurants. All the daytime front desk staff were friendly especially the lady. We arrived early before noon and room wasn't available because maid was not in yet maybe because summer season. But that's fine, they held our luggage for us while we headed out. However, there was a nighttime Asian man who was a little rude but he wss only there first night of our stay. There were no special amenities but it was Ok we were out most of the time. The room was cold when you enter but becomes very warm, not sure if anything to do wih the key that you place in the slot to turn on the lights. It had a small balcony which was nice. There is an in room safe but no refrigerator. The bathroom was super small, probably would be hard to fit my 5'10 husband but me and my sister made it work. There was a good quality hair dryer in the bathroom,no need to pack that. There's a self service coffee/hot cocoa machine up front that was really good. We did not try the breakfast as we wanted to explore what the local places have to offer. Overall, I would probably stay here again.

Poor 2.0
We had a really bad experience. 1. The room was very old and small. We as a couple could hardly move around the room. Anyone in a larger size could hardly move in the bathroom. 2. Faulty fire alarm - The fire alarm on my floor rang 3 times at midnight within 2 nights. We could hardly sleep. 3. Very rude receptionist - The male receptionist that served us was very rude. When the fire alarm on my floor rang the receptionist immediately stormed INTO my room and shouted at me in accusing me of smoking, which we haven't. Then we found out that the fire alarm was faulty and that it wasn't anyone's fault at all. We just got scolded for no reason and no apologies were made at all. 4. I feel like I could have gotten more at this price: - Better service - At least some slippers in the room - A change of the sheets/toilet roll (They only gave us 1 toilet roll each night unless we requested) - On some days they took the used towels but forgot to replace it with new ones, then when they went to grab a new one from the BASEMENT it just felt so unhygienic. Conclusion: Honestly, the location isn't quite so bad. But then at this price you could get much bigger brighter rooms with much better service. I booked this hotel for my business trip because I have once stayed at 9HOTEL REPUBLIQUE, and it was a dream. I very much recommend that branch despite its location and if you ever consider 9HOTEL OPERA, please reconsider.
