Poor 2.0
We booked this Hotel for our last night in Tasmania. We were allocated Room 41, upon opening the room door we were confronted with a terrible odour, the room was very dated, carpet stained, the cleanliness of the room was poor. The bathroom odour was even worse! not a fan of wall dispensers of liquid for shampoo/conditioner/soap etc (possible breeding area for mould). When we chose this Hotel it was selected based on the photo's on the website, the photo's are misleading they possibly represent the renovated rooms ours was not acceptable in 2018! When we queried the room was told that they were fully booked and could not move us yet according to the Website they still were stating rooms available. They also claimed the room had been serviced the day before if so their cleaning staff need further guidance on acceptable standards. To access any rooms requires carrying luggage up in our case 2 flights of stairs (no assistance was offered). The Wifi is non existent...yes it logs you on BUT you are unable to load any page not even able to check emails. The driveway is very steep and unsafe access would be impossible for anyone disabled or elderly, care needs to taken with cars so no damage to the undercarriage. Unfortunately this Hotel for us left a very bad impression and would not recommend to anyone.

Close to the city family stay
A family holiday in Launceston, we stayed at the Comfort Inn. There are 3 floors (we were on the top floor) and the view of the city can be seen from the top floor. We didn't see an elevator and the ground of the whole complex is on steep slope. Those with mobility issues will find this place a challenge. All beds were comfortable, but in the one room. Even though the room can accommodate 5 people, facilities (towels, chairs around the table, cutlery) was only provided for 4 - minor issue and quickly resolved by the friendly staff at the front desk. The room is dated, but not to the point of disrepair. We did have a fridge that was difficult to open, to the point where it could be pulled out of its cavity in the cupboard and onto the floor. We told the kids not to open the fridge by themselves so that the fridge would not fall on them - I'm sure that this was just room specific. There is parking in the complex, but keep in mind that car doors will bang into other cars if not held onto, again for the slope in the complex. We did experience issues connecting to the Comfort Inn's Wi-fi (i.e. it would not show any webpages, but our laptops did say it could connect), which I suspect could be something to do with the Comfort Inn's modem.

Good 6.0
Guy great, woman rude.
Early check in allowed due to weather was great. Room was very cold unless you kept the heater on, bed was comfortable, was quite dated in everything else. The guy at the reception with the accent was brilliant and very welcoming. Was showing another gentleman how to check in customers. The woman however had a sour puss look on her face, did not even say hello to me, yet just glared at me. Upon check out, the guy with accent once again was amazing, and once again the woman was as welcoming as a dead goat. She needs to learn to be welcoming. I was polite and said hello and good bye to all in the reception area and she didn’t say anything. Customer service and hospitality is my job and I know I’d have done a far better job than the woman. Being close to the stairs was quite annoying as backpackers were up and down the stairs all night and talking loudly. I called reception but obviously no one there as no one picked up. Won’t be back but for the cheap as price I wasn’t expecting the world either.

Fair 4.0
We had a family room which was much smaller than the pictures listed online. The bathroom would fill up with cigarette smoke and was unbearable every 20-30 minutes (not sure if one of the rooms around us was a smoking room and the smoke was funneled into our room). The smell of cigarette smoke was at times enough to make me gag. The air handler was difficult to operate and we could not find any instructions, so it took a lot of trial and error to get any air flow in the room. The single beds in the room were okay, but the queen bed was incredible uncomfortable as you could feel each spring in the mattress. The wi-fi did not work on any of our devices... never figured out why. Some of the towels had holes in them as they were quite old. I could go on. Very budget hotel without the budget price.

Comfort with good quality service
Although not located within the city centre the Comfort Inn Coach House has much to commend it. The rooms are spacious, the accommodation comfortable and, conveniently, the toilet is not located within the en suite but is separate. Upon arrival guests are given a warm welcome, with a map of Launceston available for guests on which is placed the location of local attractions as well as local restaurants. In addition the distance from the motel to the restaurants is stated beside the map. Furthermore, flyers for places of interest are available, with motel staff happy to provide additional information. So, for example, when I was in the reception area Peter (?) spent time explaining to guests, perhaps from China, where local attractions were and pointing them out on the available map and discussing the time it would take to reach them. That is, guests were made to feel welcome and a service was readily provided. Breakfast, either buffet or cooked, was available with a full breakfast available for a very reasonable $16
