The front desk person Jozell was very nice other than that the hotel was very with even with air conditioning running 24hrs a day, the ref stunk so bad if stunk the whole room, small bugs in bed, location was not ideal for local transport..MRT and bus, Grab is accessible so are cabs. We were given a room next to the elevator and everytime someone rode in the elevator the room had a tugging sound all night long until no one uses it anymore. The room is 1201.

Average Hotel but beware.
As we arrived at the RE Hotel (my wife, myself, and 4 year old son) firstly the hotel room deposit that has to be paid, their credit card machine wouldn't work properly and ended up blocking one of my cards. Secondly when we got to our room there was a large amount of mold on the shower curtain and a large sharp pin on the floor. Taking into account that my son has a very bad eczema problem and i have asthma and the mega problem of the pin on the floor also there was quite a bit of settled dust in the room plus large amounts of thick black hairs in the bathroom tells me that the rooms were not cleaned to a satisfactory standard. I went back to reception and complained i was asked what did i want my reply was a different room to which i was told that they would have to check with the manager. After a while they came back to us and offered us another room with just 2 single beds in it (excuse me i'm married and want to be next to my wife) so we said no to that one. We was then offered another room on the 9th floor which was a bit safer (no mold or large pins) but still dust and black hairs in the bathroom and cracked wall tiles but after 21 hours travelling and nearly an hour waiting for a room we gave in and accepted the below standard room. The manager did say to us that for all the trouble and stress we had gone through he would send a gift to our room here's hoping (bottle of wine tea shirts chocolates etc) nope 4 apples and 2 oranges, WHAT A JOKE. Very Bizarre Hotel!
Location is OK although it's a walk to the nearest convenience store down a steep slope. Check in was quick but there is no concierge service to take bags to the room. Room was small with odd decorations that looked a bit tired. No proper chair to sit at the desk and the desk bashed your knees if you tried to sit at it. Mini bar was not stocked. Tea and coffee selection was poor. Bathroom had a bath but no bath plug and you needed to turn the water heater on in the room 15 minutes before you wanted to use the bath! Very annoying if you don't notice that until the morning and you are pressed for time. The whole place stank of durian despite signs saying it was not allowed. Breakfast was appalling, you had to eat off a plastic tray like you would get in prison. The baked beans hadn't been warmed at all and the only drinks available were overly sweet instant coffee and tea, if you asked you could get a "fresh coffee" but even that was pretty dire. WiFi was fast but unsecured.

Skip this Hotel.
After looking at the photos of this hotel we were very excited to stay. A style befitting of Singapore, utterly unique and with a particular zing if you will. Upon check-in, that aforementioned image was nothing more than illusion. This hotel spent its budget on the design and not the infrastructure. As a result of this choice we had a leaking ceiling, a family room that showed VERY heavy usage with little up-keep and noted that the images of the hotel did NOT match reality. Simple requests of the staff were met with difficulty; please have a taxi cab at the door by 0515. No cab. Please have a crib placed in our room. "No, we can't do that," yet after arriving to the room, there was a crib. Signs posted in the room saying drinks were complimentary, then stated consumption would result in a charge; a logic problem Archimedes couldn't solve! If you left more than 100g of food on your plate, you would be penalized SGD$10/100g (though this could be a Singapore thing). Lost your room key? SGD$10. A classic nickel and dimeing your customers. Overall, and to be more direct, skip this hotel. Spend your hard earned money else where.

Good value for money
We travelled as a family and had a 2 bedroom suite. Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly - excellent service. We arrived early in the morning. Check-in was supposed to be 3pm but the staff made a room available for us before 10am. The carpet in the room entry was stained when we arrived but when we pointed that out they cleaned it up quickly. Beds were comfortable. Re Hotel is not on the main street but its only 10 minutes walk to Chinatown, Tiong Bahru and Clarke Quay. We used 'Grab' instead of taxis. Rides can be booked in the hotel foyer. Free-to-use 'Handy' smart phone was great and saved us more than 20% on tickets to Universal Studios. We received a complimentary buffet breakfast. The food was good.
