View from our room was fantastic although we could not go onto the balcony as it was locked. Renovations were occurring but Carol the Manager was very understanding and made arrangements to help improve our stay. Thankyou to Carol. Other staff was mixed. One of reception staff excellent other not. One of restaurant staff excellent others not. Mixed emotions about this property. Position was good but town to hotel is a hill to walk up.

I spent three nights at The Imperial. I came to Torquay to do the South Coast walk and some walks around Torbay. I had a fabulous room - more suite than a room with a hallway, 2 wardrobes, a good sized bathroom and a large bedroom with balcony. This suite was great value for money. I ate in the restaurant each evening and had breakfast in the dining room each morning. the food was superb especially the Beetroot gnocchi which was divine. I felt I got great value for money and would certainly stay at The Imperial again.

Hotel room is lovely and large, beds comfortable and large. Balcony is so good but balcony furniture is useless. 2 chairs, no table, no lounger. Shower head filthy. Shower really weak.

Very disappointing room!! Had balcony but due to safety balcony was out of use… doors were actually secured and no air In room at all…. So we had to pay to upgrade to a room where we could open the doors… absolutely appalling….. then the room wasn’t very clean had long black hairs in bathroom, bulbs not working in lights, under bed was all dirty…. We asked for a later check out and they had the cheek to ask us to pay £20 per hour….. what a joke!!!!! For the price we paid it wasn’t great and would t recommend it…. Plenty of hotels in Torquay and never been treated like this…….

We booked this hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed with our choice. We had a lovely room with a balcony and sea view across the bay which was stunning. The bed was comfortable, shower was good and the room clean. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. We will be definitely using this hotel again.

Staff charming and helpful. Had an excellent 'deluxe' sea view room suitable for limited mobility, only one handrail over bath. Room superficially cleaned daily. Pleased that there was 6 Blue Parking spaces and one was available for duration of our stay. Excellent breakfasts with a superb view of Torbay. On the negative side was the sad old bar rarely frequented. We know why ! Pint of local lager and a glass of dry white wine £17.50. This was very disappointing incentive to drink in Hotel. Wine at Dinner cheapest Chardonny £30.

Lovely & friendly stay, they couldn't do enough to help us. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice, they cater for gluten free. It's easy enough to get down to the harbour but is a steep hill to get back up if you struggle walking, it's very easy to get a taxi. We would highly recommend staying here! Twenty 1 restaurant was lovely to eat at, would definitely go back there if we came back to Torquay. We would suggest you go on the little green train ride that takes you all round Torquay, it is well worth £5!
