Nice location... poor staff experience..
We have stayed at this location several times previously and at other Embassy Suite properties and have rarely been disappointed. This stay was one of them. We arrived a bit late (about 10 p.m.). The staff checking us in was courteous, but not overly friendly or helpful. We booked out stay through, and are also Hilton Honors members - the Hilton Honors membership has always been recognized and rewarded (free water, upgraded wifi) when we stayed at other E.S. properties even when booking with When I could not get logged into the Wifi using my HIlton Honors log in, I called the front desk and was told that since I booked through that it was not considered. Fine. I called the front desk again about 10 minutes later to ask them to connect us to the kitchen so we could order room service. We were told the kitchen already closed (the hotel book indicated it was open until 11 p.m.). Fine... I asked if he could recommend one of the delivery places listed in the hotel booklet - he told me not to bother because everything would be closed and we would not be able to order anything from anywhere... Hmmm... 10:30 p.m. on a Friday night in a major cuisine city... So I called the first place on the list and was told of course they were open and would deliver. We also found the bathroom less than clean (was cleaned thoroughly the next day though) and someone's old underwear behind the bedroom door! Our last stay at this location.

Suite was nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Great area for walking everywhere. Cocktail hour was a disaster— only one server working our area resulting in a very long wait and impatient customers. Our server tried to be positive but clearly he was getting frustrated.

Dirty Embassy Suites Hotel
Hotel is filthy. I don't know what else to say. I travel regularly on business, and stay at major brands, Hyatt. Marriott, Sheraton, etc.. This Embassy Suites is owned by Hilton. It was a two night stay, we left after one night. AC didn't work with 96 Montreal heatwave. They told me hotel was sold out, no other rooms available. Room was dirty, and smelled. Even the hallway stunk of oversprayed deodorizer.and extremely damp. This is a 1-2 star hotel at best. Do not stay here, look elsewhere.

So, So stay
If wanting to experience European-like/French Canada visit Quebec City. Montreal was a disappointment. Embassy Suites, Montreal was....Meh. The room was clean and the room service, conceirge and front desk staff were helpful and pleasant, but the breakfast/dining staff came across as rude, but don't blame them as the guest acted like vultures during the complimentary buffet and manager's evening drink time. The food was not good at all and we opted to eat in old town the remaining time were stayed at Embassy Suites. The pullout bed is not comfortable and sank in the middle. The 2 elevators for such a large hotel is a joke. The experience will deter me from staying at the Montreal Embassy Suites, but I will continue to stay at Embassy Suites elsewhere as the chain normally outstanding.
