I normally don’t take the time to give reviews but I’ll make an exception this time because it’s one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Room was clean. Bed very comfortable. Big window with view to ocean plus the city. Breakfast buffet variety and quality second to none. Service outstanding. Staff well trained also friendly and personable. Pool was fantastic with plenty of deck chairs umbrellas and cocktails. Cafe specialises in awesome cakes and the coffee is gooood! Dinner at Chinese, Japanese or Bar style restaurants were ALL very good menus and under the one roof. Close to shopping. Get a car or Touk Touk from the front door. Outstanding value across the board. We will be back no question. Give this place your first priority next trip to Colombo.

Hotel is in a great location, close to Galle Face Green, Colombo Fort Train Station, Pettah Market, Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct and the Red Mosque. Beautiful, clean hotel with friendly staff, a great pool area and nice dining options.

Hotel rooms are bit outdated. Hotel lobby area is extremely busy with functions and don’t feel like you are having a relaxing holiday. Staff are good and rooms are clean. Good is great too.

On paper The Kingsbury seems like a great place to stay but that's where it ends with my recent experience. Having spent 8 days in Sri Lanka traveling around and experiencing the best in hospitality i was looking forward to my Kingsbury stay. Upon check in (which might i add was 515pm in the afternoon) i was advised my room was not ready. Something i would accept if before 2pm or close to after. But at over 3 hours past their advertised check in time i questioned this with Reception. After some whispering and keyboard tapping i was told i could have a room. It would be on the executive floor, but was followed up with, no entitlements would be extended, just the room. No problem....we are escorted to the room and bags follow shortly afterwards. The room itself was comfortable with a nice view. However it took 3 phone calls to housekeeping for them to provide adequate towels and toiletries for two guests. Then we tried room service. Two phone calls to place our order. Food did come promptly. I really could write on for days but travellers note...this hotel caters for locals. We were a mother and daughter travelling from Australia and found the majority of staff across the hotel to be rude and condescending. I booked a car through the hotel for the airport. Paid USD65 and told it would be the hotels Mercedes 200E. When we checked out we were loaded into a Volvo i queried this. It was told "Madam they are all the same" ok, so why couldn't i go in the car i booke

Had a great stay. Staff are very good . Front desk staff and housekeeping staff are excellent. They are always willing to go out of their way to help you. Just ask them for any special requirements. Hotel foyer is very busy as many weddings/functions take place. Food is excellent. The High Tea is must and good value. Big selection of hot food,salads, pastries and deserts and to tp off iced coffee and tea/coffee. Buffet dinner is also outstanding with a Hugh selection of food.
