Receptionist service needs improvement
I'm quite disappointed with the receptionists in charge during our stay. I have to wait for 20 mins just for check in on 2 Jan around 8 pm. There were only 2 receptionist on duty, one of them is constantly on the line and the other seems to have a difficult customer. The female receptionist on the phone (don't recall her name) finally finished after 20 mins and processed my check in. I asked her to register my visa and she said it will be ready in the morning. She didn't inform where the elevator to the room is. However, the concierge is very attentive and helped us with our bags. The next morning, another receptionist is on duty (Natalya). I asked for my visa registration, she checked and said it will be ready in the afternoon. I informed her I must go to airport at 2 pm. When I returned near 2 pm, there was a long queue at both receptionist desk. I asked Natalya and she said they have not registered my visa. I was very disappointed with this since I mentioned I need to go to airport and she promised it'll be ready in the afternoon. She asked for our passports and it takes almost 30 mins to register our visa. We were almost late for our flight, thanks to the slow service from Hilton. We stayed at 3 US chain hotels during our trip (Holiday Inn, Mercure, Hilton) and Hilton has the worst service here. The hotel is near 2 big railway stations, Kazanskaya & Leningradsky. Kazanskaya exit is best and nearest. Room is clean and comfy but old style. No good food nearby.

Hotel that doesn't care about its paying guests
I was going to spend a weekend in Moscow and needed a place to stay for 1 night on Apr 21, 2018: the price was good, reviews were great and the location was perfect: just 5 min away from Leningradsky train station. However, when I arrived there, I was refused to be checked in as I didn't have my Original migration card with me. I left it in St Petersburg where I stayed for 2 weeks, as this requirement was mentioned neither on Hilton's nor on Expedia's websites. Any suggestions to provide an electronic copy was refused as they insisted they did need to see Original document. The staff, although polite, bluntly refused to provide any alternative solution for my situation and simply showed me the door. They, however, promised to refund my payment (already received by Hilton). As a result, I had to cancel all my Sunday's appointments and to exchange my train ticket for the one on Saturday's return train to St Petersburg. The next day I received an e-mail from Expedia saying that HIlton refused to return my money as my booking was "non-refundable" (although it wasn't me who cancelled it). Expedia contacted this hotel trying to talk some sense into them, but they were adamant: no refund. Expedia was gracious enough to refund my money which I very appreciated. Needless to say that I won't return to Hilton Moscow nor would I recommend anyone to stay there: they won't be there for you in case you get into difficult/unfortunate situation in a foreign country/unfamiliar city.

This is not the level you expect from Hilton
Average check-in times are very long. They didn't even want to check me at first even though I paid 4-night in full! Suit didn't have either toothbrush or razor set on my first night, so I had to run to the nearest supermarket to buy one. The suit didn't have cup for toothbrushes, so obviously my toothbrush was rubbed against all surfaces when toilet was cleaned. Also, sink was blocked d and didn't drain well. Another thing is that spoons obviously are not washef but merely wiped with used towel obviously. Because I saw a spoon with traces of yoghurt I had in the morning on it! Very unpleasant feeling. At least they change towels everyday though I hanged it according to their green policies in order to reuse, but still they changed it. Also, during breakfast a girl ran into our table and insisted to pay NOW instead of after the breakfast or upon check out. Seriously?! This is not the level of service you expect from a 5-star hotel like Hilton. Very disappointed

Historic building, good location
Situated in the smallest of Stalin’s seven sisters the hotel offers a typical Hilton experience with Russian hospitality. It’s well located close to the metro which makes getting to all the major sights easy and the stations to St Petersburg, Kazan and where the Trans siberian departs are clustered together across the road from the hotel. I found lots of good cafes and shops close by. The pool and sauna area is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are large but I found the bed and pillows uncomfortable and the room temperature was too hot and I was not able to get the air conditioning to work. The large windows open which is good for cooling but it’s too noisy to keep them open and I think rather dangerous to allow them to open at this height. Room service was excellent quality and delivered with friendly, efficient service.

Exceptional 10.0
Amazing historic landmark
I stayed in this historic landmark from 1954, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is great, though a 40 minutes walk from the Red Square , but it's easily accessible by the nearby metro station. Also convenient when arriving from St Petersburg as I did, as the Leningradskaya train station is just a 600 meters walk from the hotel. The staff is super friendly and the hotel itself is truly historic impressive and fascinating as it is the smallest of Stalins 7 sisters. The decor of the rooms are a bit dated and beige, but still feels authentic and cool, and I was also fortunate enough to have a room on the 15th floor with nice view. The bathroom spacious and clean and bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and staff is overall very nice and helpful. I would definitely consider to come back upon my next stay, and would recommend staying here if you' re interested in architecture and historic flair and a great starting point for your stay in Moscow.
