Endearingly local Hawaiian style hotel in Waikiki
The Ewa Hotel may not be up to the standard of the ultra-luxe five-star palaces, but you're going to be waddling around in your wet swimsuit and flippers anyway, so who are you planning to impress? The Ewa is (a) a block from the beach (b) inexpensive, (c) clean and (4) offers heaps of real 'Aloha' service. The desk staff (in particular, Michelle) are helpful, friendly and really care about how you are enjoying your stay. This is a lot closer to the real spirit of Hawaiian hospitality than the Marriots and the Sheratons and the (God forbid) Trump Tower. There's no pool - the sea is 2 minutes that way, borrow a beach towel at the front desk. There's no restaurant - there are 20 of them within 10 minutes' walk. There's no bar - the ABC Store is around the corner. Save several hundred dollars on your week's stay and enjoy another round of Mai Tais at the Tiki Bar next door. Mahalo nui loa, Ewa, we'll be back!

Absolutely dissapointed
Booked for 2 double bed room, received 2 single bed, asked for change, got REFUSED! Room was much smaller, and no balcony as in the actual have been paid for. No help with the car, just expected the $25 for the hotel's parking spot - check a parking spot for $1/h near by at the Zoo car park.

Pass on this one.
Had a "queen" bed which was just 2 twins pushed together with the individual twin headboards still attached to the wall haha. Room smelled strong of bleach and everything in the room was pretty run down. It was survivable since I was just there for a night, but would have relocated if I had to spend more time. For the price it's worth just staying in a hostel.
