Good location but noisy
We were going to an event at the Michael Fowler Center and this was only thirty seconds walk away so great location. The breakfast pancakes and light dinner were a great, free addition. However the first night people were noisy until 130am then the doors began to open and slam closed at 6am. Great that people want to get up and moving early but the doors are super heavy so they slam shut unless you help quietly close them. Little sleep was had. We had a queen and single ensure room. Very small, just barely big enough to get between the beds. The staff said we might be able to check in early but we had the same response each time we asked 'none of the rooms are ready.' Seriously, at 115 when check in is 2, none of the rooms are ready? I find that hard to believe especially when we were told at 10 they'd just gone up to start housekeeping. More a case of can't be bothered to check so just had the standard answer. Don't say you might have early check in if you don't intend to even find out. Meant our luggage was left unattended for a very long time so we could get to our event because even though they have a luggage room, it was waist high with bags already. For the money, I wouldn't stay there again. Conveniently close but way over priced for a room like that.

Exceptional 10.0
Excellent close to everything
We booked a family room for 2 adults and one 11year old daughter. It was more than I expected especially this was our first time staying in a hostel kind of accommodations. The room was very clean and light. It was serviced every morning so we got clean towels and supply of body washes and facial cleans which was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very approachable. The Friday pancakes was a hit except I had to wait for 1/2 hour to cook mine cause all the others were taking their time and were making more to save for later on then I had to clean their mess as I was the las one there so apart from that it was an awesome experience and will definitely stay there again.

Very good 8.0
Very convenient location and the price is right!
This was my 3rd stay at nomads and the first time I have been disappointed. While the room looked clean, when I ran water into the bathroom sink it became obvious the sink was blocked with food or vomit because it was bubbling up out of the plug hole! . While I didn't expect it to be unblocked late at night, I didn't expect to have to complain 3 times before the sink was unblocked! The 3rd time I complained a staff member told me they had tried to unblock it but hadn't been able to so IT WAS JUST LEFT!!!!! Surely that's when you call a plumber? Paying extra for private facilities in your room which you can't use for most of your stay seems unfair! No partial refund was offered either. I will check the sink as soon as I arrive next time!

Exceptional 10.0
Better than expected
We were lucky to have our room upgraded because of a last minute find. Was very very cheap, we stayed in wellis for a concert and could walk there and back, super close to town, very clean and spacious room, modern, nice. I wouldnt call the pancakes a 'free breakfast' since you still have to make them and the kitchen is very full, but it was a nice touch. The only thing is that parking is a bit confusing if you cant get a spot by the street but thats not the hotels fault. They should be able to tell you the options however.... that aside they were helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

Very good 8.0
Perfect location and good value
We had a twin room with ensuite. The beds were very comfortable and shower had great water pressure. It was clean and tidy. We heard no noise from outside or inside (must have been on the quiet side of the building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was a bit chaotic in the morning with everyone making their own pancakes in pans that weren’t non-stick any more, but it was fun having a free breakfast and interacting with other guests as we waited. The location was perfect. 5 minutes walk to the waterfront, TePapa and shops on Cuba street. 10 minutes walk to the WOW venue. Airport bus around the corner (5 minutes walk).
