Movenpick Hotel Frankfurt City

Unfortunately it was not as clean as the last years. For me disappointing experience, especially if I consider the price. Also breakfast and lunch was very disappointing. Food was not really fresh. Canteen food on lower level.

repair/refinement for interior and little pieces of it are recommended

Hotel was clean, tidy and quiet. Close to shops and a 10 minute walk to the main station.

Fantastic hotel staff. Quiet, clean, and very comfortable bed. 20 minute walk to train station. Across the street from a mall with a grocery store.

This hotel is in a very quiet part of the city. Now we stayed there when there were no events going on at The Messe. I can’t review what the hotel is like during conventions, etc. The staff is very polite. The hotel is very clean and it was great having a daily chocolate hour. The hotel serves complimentary goodies in the lobby.

This is the second time my sisters and i stay at this hotel. The first time was lovely, however this time wasn’t so great. The bathtub in the room they provided us was not draining properly, we had to call someone to the room they tried to fix it but did not work, we were told the technician won’t be in until tomorrow morning and that then he/she may be able to fix it. When we went downstairs to leave the hotel and get some dinner I stopped and ask at the reception at what time would the technician be in to fix the bathtub. At this time we were told that they could give us a free upgrade and change us to another room. The room was a little bigger and had a shower and bathtub. The shower worked great but the shower head for the bathtub was broken and not working properly, the fridge in that room was. This was not clearly an upgrade, they just put us in a room that was not given to anyone because it has a lot of flaws, however, it was bigger than the first one. I really loved this hotel, but I don’t feel satisfy, . when we went to get our deposit back, after paying the city taxes we were going to get €38 back, my sister told the lady at the reception if she can get €40 back instead and she will giver her €2 because we already and a lot of change and we just wanted paper bills not coins. The lady replied saying why? And looking at us weird, we explained to her again that we were going to give her €2 so she can give us €40. She was still being awkward gave us €38.

We were able to park our bicycles in the garage in a very safe location.

Air conditioning was good to have. Quiet place (I guess we were avoiding a big convention with 100s of people. Asked reception for an iron, twice, but they never brought us one.

Staff are being helpful and provide assistance when requested. Reached the hotel at 10 am and was informed the room is ready. But additional charges of Euro50 will be imposed if we choose to check in at 10 am, or we can return to the hotel at 3 pm to check in and collect the key. This is kind of ridiculous policy as the room will not be used by other guests as it's ready for us and yet, we can check in. There are no room slippers and no complimentary water in the room, which I find strange and below my expectation for such a hotel chain. Mentioned this when checked-out, was told that we should call the front desk to seek for assistance as the housekeeping "may" miss this out. Overall - the bed is comfortable, the front desk is helpful, but awful experience with this hotel chain. I would not recommend this to my friends.
