Hotel Guglielmo II was a great hotel and in an excellent location for our needs, as our prime reason for staying there was to attend Easter Sunday mass in the cathedral of Monreale which was atop the hill above our hotel. The hotel was easy to find, being right on the main road into Palermo and private parking was right across the street (albeit a busy one) and bustops into town were conveniently close by. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and very patient with us, especially Pietro and Franco, as we tried to communicate in Italian with them, even though their English was good. The food was delicious, and the chef was most accommodating by preparing a special Easter Sunday meal for us that we had requested. We highly recommend this hotel, even though it was some distance from the downtown area. But, as I said, we came particularly to visit Monreale with its cathedral of beautiful mosaics.
