8/10 Very good
25 Sept 2023
The reuse of a 1960s Holiday Inn was interesting. The interior was refreshed but if you look close at the rear and sides you can see that the original metal awnings are still there with fresh paint but big holes from rust. I think they are struggling with labour issues as the person who checked me in (afternoon) was still on duty ~17 hours later. Plus I was in the bar when the newly hired bartender just quit on their first day and walked out. The restaurant is closed which was a downer given its a necessity amenity for the location*.
I wish they had kept the pool but the large (new) grassy backyard would be good for families with kids and a car. The location is transit (Tunnel Bus + 1 transfer) and bike friendly with bike lanes. But the area is a very sleepy (depressed 1960s suburban office parkish) with little night time energy that is walkable near by.
