Love this place
I stayed here for 8 nights and 9 days last week and it was a most amazing experience. I normally stay at the Mandarin hotels in Central but this time I needed to be closer to a conference so chose the Fleming. It is located in a perfect location in Wan Chai - close yet far away enough. It had a more local feel than central and the MTR was super convenient being a few minutes walk away. I also used taxis and Uber’s a lot and that helped during evenings out. The rooms were impeccable and just so well laid out. The staff was also superb - each one of them attentive and so pleasant to deal with. For a small boutique hotel, the security always made you feel safe and secure every part of the day and throughout the evening. I loved my stay here and I would stay here again even if I didn’t have a convention to attend to in the area - it’s that good. I now prefer here versus the Mandarin (both of them) and that is saying a lot because I love it there too. As for the protests - I was fortunate to have not encountered any disruptions or had to alter any of my plans as a result of them. I noticed some heightened security around the MTR facilities by its own staff and admired the pace and ease of the transit. I may have seen three police clad in riot gear but this also was a precaution but their presence was less unnerving than walking around major cities in Europe (airports) and the USA (NYC) where officers are adorned with flak jackets and fully automatic weapons.

My wife and I notified the hotel that we would be arriving very late due to our flight schedule. The staff received us upon our arrival and was very courteous and helpful despite the late hour. We arrived in our room, which was impeccably clean and neat. The decor and atmosphere of the room was in keeping with the rest of the hotel, down to the elevators, hallways, and the restaurant. My wife and I were huge fans of the aesthetic, so we were absolutely delighted by the attention to detail of all the items in the room, from the switches, to the silverware available to guests, to the mobile phone which guests could use at no extra charge! The bed was a great size for a couple and quite comfortable. The mobile phone came in extremely handy when our phones were in need of charging and we were in the middle of navigating the city. Each member of the staff that we ran into greeted us happily. Every morning when we arrived in the lobby, we were greeted and asked how they may help us, or if we needed anything (transportation, directions etc). We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant (Osteria Marzia). The breakfast was not included with our hotel stay, but we did have the option to charge our bill to the room. The breakfast was delightful. The staff were attentive and courteous every day that we had breakfast there. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very good 8.0
Very well located hotel, close to everything. Breakfast was not buffet style but rather at the restaurant downstairs. It's still very well sized and tasty. The hotel does one thing extremely well: They don't try to use one hotel room as a mini-gym - Instead they give you a day pass to a real gym, just around the corner. They deserve 50000* just for this. The only thing that was really disappointing for me was the fact that the room is extremely humid. We had some big issues with the AC during our stay and had to let the AC run at a very cold temperature just to feel halfway normal and be able to breathe. Quite sure that if we would have spent more than 2 nights at this place, we would have gotten sick. Otherwise, extremely well planned hotel. Rooms really good size for Hong kong as well. I hope they get their ventliation issues under control, because that's the only thing keeping me from giving this place an 5/5.

Staff were attentive! Design and decor were cool, starting from the reception area! Love the lightings in the room but took me a while to figure it out how to turn them off, especially the spot light on the ceiling! Love, love, love the bathroom (except the basin --- not deep enough)! One thing though, the layout of the EXTRA LARGE / BIGGEST room of the hotel was a big strange --- the way the bed was put and the position of the TV (though I could pull it out from the wall / wall frame). I would definitely stay in this hotel again...but I would book the LARGE ROOM instead. Like the layout much better as I asked the receptionist to show me afterwards. If you are a cool person, you got to stay in this hotel, whether you are visiting Hong Kong or you are from Hong Kong! You'll love it and appreciate every detail, decoration, furniture and display in the room / in this hotel!

Good 6.0
Ok stay
Fleming is a nice hotel - just renovated! But the rooms are very small, and for more than a 1 night stay for two people I would recommend booking a large room! The ventilation in the rooms were also not so good, and our towels remained wet over night even though hung up because the room was so humid. The interior is super cool and the staff is very friendly and try to accommodate needs - we got free drinks in the restaurant after expressing being unhappy with the size of the room. Although, I would not stay in this hotel next time in Hong Kong, as the value for money is not up to par.
