The location was great;restaurants and grocery shopping were nearby; however, there were no amenities at this hotel! That is: no bar or restaurant; no changing rooms or lavatory facilities around the pool; beach towels and umbrellas were old and tired looking. We later found out that this hotel was going to be demolished in June of this year!!! Needless to say, the cost of lodging for one week was exorbitant and not worth the price we paid. There are other properties owned by these developers. We have written the names and we will consider them. However,

The shower leaks and we were not impressed with the way it was maintained.

Affordable beach front hotel
We stayed for a week of leisure. Having a kitchen in the room was great for keeping meal costs down. The offer a continental breakfast basket that you can refill each morning with the usual Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran bowls, milk, orange juice, yogurt, packaged bagels, etc. Not the best for diabetics. House cleaners came by each day and would do full linen change on request or just what you need changed on request. Beds were OK but a little soft to my taste. We came during a cold snap (down to 32 degrees) and blankets weren't adequate but the room heater took care of that. Didn't expect to come to Florida and have to turn up the heat. Location is towards the north end of the chain of beach hotels and resorts, a bit further from the shops and restaurants, but very handy to Ding Darling Nature Preserve and less crowded beaches.

Soooo much good,....but?!
Great location. Quiet and relaxing. Right on the beach. Nice big pool. A short bike ride on flat sandy roads or paved bike paths to the best grocery store, deli and the only movie theater on the island, as well as several top restaurants and the Ding Darling nature preserve (Great birding and an occasional alligator or turtle sighting). Much of the property has been freshly painted with very nice landscaping. Stayed in 3 different rooms. Terrible beds in each of them. Carpet in one looked like it just came out of a 1970's frat house(faded brown stripes with huge amount of wear and tear and old stains). Staff was very nice all around. In fact, the staff was so nice, that the dated rooms and even the beds were easy to overlook. Would definitely stay here again,....... IF, they got new beds.

We love this place! If you want a comfortable, friendly place to stay, then stay here. The people who work here are so nice. Your room includes a breakfast basket, bikes, paddle boards, chairs and umbrellas and beach towels. Can't beat that! The beds are so comfortable and love the full size fridge. This is our 5th year here and will be back.

It was a nice quiet place that had a lot of positives. Could use some updating but it was clean and had a great location.

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. It was fairly expensive, especially since it was off season. Yet, the shower was broken, the bed dipped toward the middle, and had no insulation against the newly arrived red tide event. The hotel included breakfast but it was fair lame. A couple of boxes of cereal, cereal bars, etc. reminiscent of what is offered at a discount motel—but at premium prices. Never again!

It was ok
Check in was ok. Had to ask the following morning for our breakfast basket. Had asked to paddle board and was told they would bring the life jacket and paddle down to the beach, waiting over an hour in the heat and finally walked back Tom themoffice again to tell them to forget it. So, our experience could of been better.

Great, mellow getaway!
What a lovely experience. Grounds are immaculate and well cared for, rooms also. But best of all is thoughtfulness of the staff, especially James and Leslie (who kindly rescued all our belongings from the pool when the storm blew up while we were at the beach). We did not expect a basket of breakfast items and snacks, including fresh squeezed orange juice, delivered every night for the next day. Wow. Also it was great to have free on-site bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and life jackets; and appreciated the complimentary travel size bottle of sunscreen/no-see-um repellent at check in. (Worked great and you’ll need no-see-um protection everywhere on Sanibel so we bought another). Great, stress-free getaway. And maybe it was dumb luck but we found better shells right on beach at the hotel then we did anywhere else. Happily recommend.

Clean but average
Clean, well located, nice pool and loved the breakfast basket. On the downside, the service was not strong and the bed had troughs from people sleeping. Needed to be replaced.
