YMCA has more reliable showers than Sonder!
The shower in my room didn’t produce comfortably warm water even after I let the water run for 20 minutes. Result is that I had to take a quick uncomfortable shower on the night of my stay and a sponge bath on the morning of my check out. A big set of hassles that added stress to an already hectic trip and week.

Noisy and smelly
The property seems nice, but there are too many things that need fixed. The smell inside the hallways is of stale garbage, probably because they still have these garbage chutes. There is carpet on all hallways that makes the air quality questionable and, on top, there are electronic scent diffusers that make the air smelling of intense perfume, almost unbearable. The rooms luckily have hard floors and they survive, although the walls and windows have dings and small cracks, bathroom ceiling show signs of swelling, creating a general feeling of job half-done. Finally, something that the property should address, is the noise of the airplanes taking off. If you haven't got your rest until 6am then good luck after that. Planes are noisy, every minute one wakes you up. Investing in better, sound proof termopan windows is something the property should consider. If there is something that will make me not consider Sonder again, then it's this problem. You definitely need a hotel room to rest, not to be subject to constant noise in the early morning hours.

Fab comfy room but awful check in process
Once we got into the room it was lovely, spacious and clean with a really comfy bed. Check in however was a NIGHTMARE. Despite me messaging twice in the two days before our stay requesting details I was sent nothing, no info, no door code. No response through hotels.com. On arrival no one is there to help. Eventually had to change my mobile phone package to be able to make international calls so I could call to finally get sent the longwinded and annoying process of verifying my email / passport / picture etc etc. Creates a really really bad first impression. Please sort it out Sonder, as your lack of comms is really letting you down on what would otherwise be a great stay.
