Fantastic stay, amazing location which is less than a minute walk to a lake. The lake was really quiet and perfect for going in to swim or walking around. Bed was really comfortable. Great hotel with interesting history relating to winter olympics. A variety of rooms. Attractive Bavarian decor around the hotel including traditional furniture. Accepts dogs. A wide selection of quality food that can be augmented with wines and beers. Numerous forrest walks start outside the hotel by the lake. There is a path down the hillside that allows you to reach Garmish providing you have reasonable fitness. The old road to the hotel is being replaced so no more bumps before arrival. The views in good weather are stupendous. If you stand at the end of the lake near the hotel, you can see the Zugspitze mountain complex. We have visited twice and would love to go a third time or more.

The Riessersee Hotel was a great experience. I stayed in a nice room in the building looking out on the waterfall and down on Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Friendly staff, good breakfast and dinner. There is the hotel restaurant with a buffet and the Seehaus Restaurant, with very friendly service and good food. I highly recommend the Riessersee hotel for anyone wanting to experience a "mini" grand-hotel experience in the beautiful Bavarian alps. It will not be the last time I stay there.

The property is in a rural like setting yet is only minutes away from Partenkirchen. There is a beautiful lake to sit outside and enjoy as well as a walking path around the lake. The breakfast and dinner buffets were huge and had so many choices to eat. The food was very good. There are several lounge areas both inside and outside to sit around and relax. Parking onsite. I would stay here again!

Amazing stay!

Excellent hotel! Chose it primarily because of the surrounding scenery and it did not disappoint. The hotel is suprisingly large and consists of multiple buildings. The staff is super friendly and helpful (despite my poorly spoken German!), the room was very nice & clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is unsurpassed - food tastes great and there are so many choices! The restaurant (by the lake) is also very good. I would definately choose this place to stay at again if my travels bring me back in this direction. Highly recommended!
