Had to leave before breakfast and Suzanne was kind enough to get me a scone and a few strawberries the night before. That’s about the best I can say about my stay. I woke up in the middle of the night frozen to the bone. Next morning I realized the there was about an inch of air between the window and the window frame. Time for new windows.

    B&B of No Return, Sadly

We had anticipated a stay at a great B&B, but were disappointed. The host was not ready for us at 3 PM, having to clean the bathroom and tidy up - and gave us the wrong room and thought we were staying for 2 nights, not 1. She also runs a gift shop on premises and paints. Her paintings of horses were quite good. She also paints nudes, one of which was visible from the breakfast/additional gift shop area. All this can be forgotten if it were not for the meager breakfast and somewhat cold disposition of the host. I did engage her in a nice conversation at our table, but I couldn’t help feeling she wanted to get back to her painting. On the positive side, our room, while it had a shared bath that we knew about, was adjacent to a lounge area on the second floor that was very nice, and had coffee etc. available We have to judge this place as ordinary and more like an AirBnB candidate. The lack of a better breakfast really disappointed us - pancakes thinly filled with a fruit and fruit slices just didn’t make it.

Perfect spot for a get away...

My wife and I went to the Grafton Food Festival and decided to stay in the area over night. Rose Arbour was close and fit the bill. Nice spot, close to the Chester down town. The owner is very friendly. We fond the place to be clean and the breakfast in the morning was delicious.

Warm host, unique place, very Victorian. Lovely

This was my first stay at Bed and Breakfast. The place is very unique, British themed, artsy. Lots of William Morris designs, victorian decorations. We had a very pleasant stay. The breakfast was wonderful! Loved the nice touches of bed side chocolate and lavender sachets. There were robes too. Many thanks to the host who made sure our stay is comfortable.

A quaint B&B in an older Victorian home...we loved the house! This one has a few surprises because it's also has a "working" tea room (by reservation) and a gift shoppe. And the proprietor is a gifted artist of equine subjects and those are displayed throughout the home. We enjoyed our quiet stay. There are no tv's in the rooms ( there are 3 rooms to reserve) to disturb guests and the shared bathroom was no problem for us. Thank you Suzanne
