Won't be back
Very expensive for what you get. Breakfast was Luke warm Rooms don't have air conditioning and opening windows shows how busy road outside is - all night

Disappointing
Nice room but very noisy. Lots of banging, it sounded like the bins were being emptied or they were receiving a delivery around 1.30. The rooms need soundproofing as you can here other guests. There were a couple of sets of ear plugs in the room so noise is obviously a known problem. The food was also very dissapointing especially as Thai is my favourite dish.

Interesting decor choices, most of them harmless
During our visit, the Beacon was very clean and as quiet as any hotel gets. The restaurant was unusually good, as was the bar. The service, also including room cleaning and front desk, was very good indeed. The Beacon obviously is in the hands of interior decorators, and their decor and furnishing choices are unusual. Some are interesting and most are harmless. However, I believe the bathroom design, while striking, is dangerous. Entering the tub/shower requires the user to step (barefoot) over a ledge that’s about 30 inches [76 centimeters] above the floor. There is no handle in - or near - the tub entrance that one could grab when the floor or tub bottom is wet. Sitting on the ledge isn’t practical: it’s hard stone with a very narrow width. One other point: the fainting couch that substitutes for a reading chair in the bedroom is uncomfortable when sitting for any length of time.
