Extra charge for using a credit card at this hotel
The Bolton is a comfortable city centre hotel. It was the second Hotel out of three in New Zealand which said it would charge us extra for using a credit card to pay. This charge can be avoided by paying cash. Notably the smallest hotel didn't do this.

Great overall
Excellent staff, nice room, good location and really nice breakfast. Restaurant is being remodelled but still had good service and food. Parking is expensive in the area but there is a good Wilson’s parkade next door with an $8 overnight rate. Normal fees thru out downtown are $10 hr ( pricey).
