Profile: Midtown

Profile: Midtown

The energetic Midtown – Piedmont area is just short of a mile north of Downtown’s Centennial Park. It’s centered on Atlanta’s “Midtown Mile”; a skyscraper-flanked thoroughfare packed with big stores, cool cafés, and sophisticated restaurants. For a break from the bustle, green and leafy Piedmont Park provides just the oasis.

When it comes to art and entertainment, Midtown offers an absolute feast. There’s the Arabian-themed Fox Theatre, which hosts everything from concerts to Broadway musicals, the High Museum of Art, with its priceless collection of classic and contemporary works, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra based at the Woodruff Arts Center.

    Ok

The staff were professional and accommodating. The hotel looks good but in my room the safe, phone and alarm did not work. It’s $49 per night for valet parking.

The stay was great. I love the location of the hotel it’s perfect. My only complaint is that I wish I was informed prior to my stay the pool was going to be closed. Everything else was great. Very friendly staff!

    For partiers

Ok, the hotel is nice. No questions there, however they could not find my hotels.com reservation initially, then the manager said he found it. Only to find out they charged me again for the nights stay. I am disputing that charge. We stayed from Saturday to Sunday, and this hotel is one of "those" hotels. Meaning, a lot of young party going people were there. Needless to say our neighbors were beyond ridiculously load starting at 11 pm well past 2 am. We called the front desk to see if they could talk to them and the hotel did nothing but give us excuses for the overly hyped behavior. If you want to party well into the morning hours? This spot is for you! If you want actually get some sleep, you may want to reconsider. The staff was all nice, however they ultimately had the "oh well" attitude about the noise...almost like it was the expectation. I will never stay here again. Been there, done that, bought a t-shirt. Thank you, I am good.

    Great overall minus the breakfast

Very clean, classy hotel. Great ammenities. Only downside is the breakfast they provide. You could stay at a Holiday Inn and get the same quality breakfast for free as opposed to paying for their sad buffet, most of which wasn't even slightly warm.. So if you stay, get breakfast somewhere else.

    Probably won't return

Was awake the first night due to a constant knocking sound coming from the bathroom area. Neither my husband or I slept well. Was moved the next day to another room and floor. The bathroom sink made a horrific noise if an attempt was made to turn the water on full. If allowed to trickle out..it was ok, but just a trickle. The tv kept pausing during programming and "assessing " before resuming the program. We tried turning it on and off several times but the issue continued. We were checking out the next day so didn't bother with it. At check out the following morning we did tell the very friendly front desk lady about the issues when she asked how did we enjoy our stay. She expressed concern and apologized and promised to refund $100 to our credit card. We really hope she does, as this two night stay at $600, was definitely not what we hoped it would be.

    Great location and stay!

The overall stay was great and the location was perfect. There was an issue with the toilet running, but they sent an engineer right away to fix it. The only down side was the Peloton bikes didn't have the shoe cages so it was hard to ride them if you don't have clip in shoes.

    Nice stay in old W

Nice remodeled Hotel (used to be the W)...Room was nice and large-though when i asked for higher floor I was given a bogus response by the desk clerk that my room was superior because of its view(nonsense)....Also, the shower was very weak and I hate the showers with one half of the opening closed with a stationary glass panel-no matter what water gets all over.

    Sister trip to Atlanta

When we got there the room connected to ours was having a dinner party/banquet and It was SO loud. The door to that room was right beside our bed. We called multiple times and they said they would go “quiet them down” but they didn’t quiet until It was over. Also the pipes were INSANELY loud. It sounded like someone was bathing on the bathroom walls the whole time 😳 There weren’t anymore handicap rooms available to move us to unfortunately 😕 And then last, if I’d known parking was going to be so insane we would have brought only one car or stayed somewhere else. $100 for two nights per car!!!! Plus all the gas money to get there. Just wasn’t expecting that. Overall the hotel was nice and comfy. But those few things were definitely frustrating.
