    Poor 2.0
Horrible experience at Kimpton Solamar hotel
This hotel completely screwed up my room-change Whilst I was out of my room, a hotel staff member had entered my room WITHOUT CONSENT.and proceeded to pack my belongings without my authorisation. When I returned to my room, I’d realised that half my belongings were missing. No note of any kind was left from the hotel to explain what they had done. I had to call reception- who then proceeded to inform me that my belongings were shifted to another room. When I queried why this was done a) without authorisation and b) haphazardly with half of my belongings, no explanation was given by the staff. I was then told that, as compensation for this error, all my food and beverage at the hotel would be covered. When I checked out of the hotel, all food and beverage items were chargef to my credit card. Would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel due to the HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I had encountered.

    Fantastic stay!
Great stay, fantastic staff and excellent location.

    Very good 8.0
Good sleep and shower, but unlikely we'll return
The bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and had good water pressure, and the room was quiet. These are the most important features of a hotel so overall we were happy. I also enjoyed free wine during a guest happy hour, which was a great perk. However, the rooms are really in need of a design update. It feels very 2000. The continental breakfast was juice, coffee, and a scone or muffin. I was hoping for a buffet with some protein and fruit options, and to serve myself rather than wait on a server. We used the valet parking one night and felt $50 was too expensive.

    Awesome Hotel
Great Service. Opt for the spa room and you’ll see the biggest 2 person tub ever. They have Social Hour every day from 5-6pm with free beer and wine for guest. I recommend this for any couple. Rooftop pool area with full bar and limited food menu. Great location, many restaurants and bars in walking radius. You can’t go wrong!

    Fair 4.0
Was told I would be getting a Jr. Suite but did not happen and then told by hotel staff (Brian) that some post Valentine goodies were to be provided. Never happened. Room was outdated. Was not the level of hotel for the price....

Great hotel. Great location, near bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect. Clean, nice detail to the room and bathroom and within good walking distance of some good bars/restaurants nearby. Good spot if you’re going to an event at Petco and just want to walk “home”.... excellent staff. Parking can be tricky if you do not want to pay the $40-50 at hotel and have to carry your bags - especially if there is an event in the area. Ace Parking 6th & K Parkade is probably your closest and affordable parking option. No complaints here.

    Good 6.0
Good Hotel but some challenges for us
Nice clean Hotel and kept up. Front desk staff was very nice and very professional. I do have four complaints however the first one isn't really the hotels fault. It may just be the location and proximity to all the local bars (Gas Lamp District). 1. It appears all of the rooms around me had load people coming down the hall to there rooms between the hours of 12AM and 3AM, I didn't call the front desk since it quieted down after they got into their room. Just frustrating to get woke several times. 2. Room service breakfast was cold. I ordered Chilaquiles which would have been amazing had it not been cold. 3. After arriving my wife and I went down to the bar pool area to get a drink and a bite to eat. The bar tenders walked passed me several times without acknowledging me. It wasn't that busy as there were place to sit at the bar. The lady that did finally take our order didn't want to be there but because of my personality and trying to get her to lighten up she finally did and it ended well. I did find out that the computer system was down so they had to hand write orders and food was taking longer than normal. I don't hav a complaint about how long the food took but rather with the manager not helping out with the bar. I saw him a couple times and he was doing nothing to help. I think the bartenders were irritated with that as well. 4. $49 for overnight parking at a hotel is unreasonable in my opinion. I know it is somewhat common place in big downtown city
