Hotel des Batignolles

The hotel is old, needs updating. Room was very small. It was clean but the carpet is old, there is no air conditioning only an oscillating fan, no elevator, not one bit luxurious. If it had been hot, I would have been miserable as the room faced a courtyard with little air circulation. I slept with the windows wide open and the fan on. One member of the staff (can’t remember his name from India) was very helpful and friendly. The other 2, not so much. Neighborhood was ok. Good distance from main attractions like Notre Dame, Luxembourg gardens but close to Arc de Triomphe. Suffice it to say I was disappointed based on the reviews I read. This would be equivalent to a motel in the US.

The decor was very cute! (I want to bring some of the aesthetics to my own apartment.) The hotel seems to be on the edge of a trendy neighborhood and one that is less so. Nicely outfitted (eg shampoos, cotton pads, etc) and as of when I stayed, a cool multi-colored pen :) I stayed in 3 hotels in Paris on my last trip, and this was the best one for the price in a neighborhood that is worth checking out if you're looking for a 'real' Paris visit. Another hotel I stayed at in the next neighborhood over was 70% more expensive and not necessarily that much better. Of course, the biggest downside is the lack of elevator/lift, but if you travel light, that's no issue.

This is a perfect French boutique hotel, clean, cozy, with great and very helpful staff. The hotel is located perfectly in the centre of the 17th addrosant very close to Rome metro station (line 2) and walking distance to the Montmartre Village, the Opera, and the Louvre, though we enjoy walking. There are a lot of great restaurants around, the grocery store and an amazing bakery is just outside the hotel doors. Last, but not least is the breakfast at the hotel was very nice, don’t miss out on it!
