Considering we booked a supposedly premium room, sadly our bed was very uncomfortable, we were astonished to discover that it was in fact a put-me-up bed, standing approx. 12" off the floor; including matress. We barely slept a wink, got very bad back ache and caused us to cut our break (my Birthday treat) short after just 3 nights The headboard had terrible stains and needed a deep clean, we tried to sleep on top of the quilt jst to even out the bumps in the matress n metal frame, the pillows had seen better days and desperately need replacing. The furniture was very dated, dark wood/laminated and in poor condition with water damage and bubbling to most surfaces. The Generally the room was very dark n dingy. It certainly wasn't a room advertised on their hotel sight. Other than breakfast, there was no food/ snacks to be had, even when there were notices to say they have them, they had no stock! we ordered in take aways!! We can do this at home!! The large walk in shower was was however gorgeous and the staff were very friendly. Although set in amazingly beautiful grounds and had so very much potential, it was a real shame as it was oozing potential. The views were breathtaking n surreal.

    Definitely will visit again

The garden area of the hotel over looking a lake was absolutely stunning. Sitting out side was so quite and peaceful.the staff encountered where very pleasant. Hotel decor generally dated but i think that was perfect for the setting

    A wonderful stay

What a lovely hotel with beautiful grounds right on the river. We had an amazing view of the Cathedral from our room. It is only a 20 minute walk into Salisbury centre from the hotel. They also upgraded our room which was a great surprise! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Avoid disappointment - do not stay

Shabby, run-down, tired, rickety bed that I put the mattress on the floor at 4am to get some sleep with a team that couldn’t have cared less about feedback, then act surprised when I won’t be staying again. No offer of any form of apology. Disgusting. I think that about covers it…

    Good but not great

Booked the best room available for a Wedding night. The bed was amazing - the views were amazing. Disappointed with the light flickering on the wall when turned on. And one looking rather dangerous on the chandelier. The shower was nice

Adequate for a 1 night stay.

Pros:- Checkin was quick. Easy onsite parking. We explained to the restaurant staff that we only wanted a single egg on toast for breakfast and they provided this for the price of the continental breakfast. We did see other people eating a full breakfast and it looked ok. The hotel has a nice garden and guests can sit by the river. It only took us 15 minutes or so to walk to the cathedral and around 25 minutes to drive to Stonehenge. Cons:- We felt the bed could have done with a new mattress. Tea making facilities but no spoons. No minibar or aircon.

    1980s tribute

This hotel is a sumptuous tribute to the 1980s! The place is so retro and the walls were very thin; it's a good job I'm so nosy as I could hear everyone's booking in and out! Staff were great though.

Very obliging friendly staff, hotel although quiet had a good atmosphere. Hotel was very close to town centre no more than a 10 minute walk. Very good parking and facilities catered for dogs.

Slightly dated but could not fault customer service although to be fair we only saw a member of staff when we checked in and checked out! Due to Covid rooms were not serviced but to you could ask for anything you needed. Bathroom floor had highly polished tiles which were a potential accident waiting to happen!! Close walk to town centre for some stunning scenery. Would not stay again but suited our needs as a pit stop for another destination.
