Mountain Retreat
If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay with instant access to Banff’s mountain trails and outdoor activities this is it. The self-contained cabins are a private and cosy place to stay while providing all the needed amenities including full kitchens outfitted with more than the usual equipment, a wood burning stove (wood delivered daily), and roomy living area. Would definitely stay again.

I would highly recommend staying here. The Chalets are very nice and very romantic. Much like some other reviews they can be a little dated and near the rail line but these were not things that took away from the experience at all. Besides if you’re staying in a cabin in the woods it should feel a little dated. What really impressed me was all the amenities that came with it. You get a parking spot right outside your front door, a very large bundle of firewood complete with kindling and newspaper to build a fire with, and a well stocked kitchen with frying pans, pots, cutlery, mixing bowls etc. Also the bed was very comfortable. I really have nothing bad to say.

Nothing more quintessential "Rockies" than having a cabin in the woods with a wood-burning stove. Comfortable bed, kitchen, and pet-friendly, makes Castle Mountain an ideal base to explore Banff, Lake Louise and the Kootenays.
