Villa Montmartre

Price was appealing. Suite was clean and comfortable. This was a mini suite with a kitchenette and living room which was great for some cooking and separation of bedroom from the rest of the suite. Wifi was available at all times. Many people of colour appeared to live in this neighbourhhood. It was a stone's throw away from the Sacre Coeur Cathedral with views of Paris and just a short walk to Moulin Rouge. It was a block and a half from the nearest Metro station and was easily assessible to major sites such as tour Eiffle and Notre Dame, although some Metro transfers were necessary. Travel time on Metro about 40 minutes to these sites. Staff were friendly and helpful when there. Combination locks allowed renters to come and go at their leisure between 8pm and 8:30 am when no staff were at the desk.

This was our first Apart-Hotel stay in Montmartre and it met all our main expectations. The bedroom was comfortable; the rooms very clean; the location ideal; local amenities and restaurant bars copious. It was an easy 20minute walk from Gard du Nord. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Just three points: The eating area could do with a pendant light hanging over it; TV reception was very bad on all but 2 channels (no channel guide on handset). 2 electric plug points were half hanging out of the wall; not unusable but possibly hazardous. All said, we would certainly stay there again and are planning a re-visit in the New Year.

This hotel has great location for the Monmartre area with the Cathederal a short walk either up the stairs or not far from the cable car. This area is spolit for choices of good local restaurants and superior gourmet experience. Also we found a number of late night bars to sit and try the French local beer while we chatted & watched the world pass by. A short walk will take you into Pigalle where you can send all night at the famous reviews and associated bars. We also walked the city from here and it was only a 15 minute walk to Gare du Nord to pick up our hire car.

I originally booked another hotel in area and after having pre-paid, I showed up and they sent me to another hotel "around the corner" to a 3 story walk up.Needless to say, I ended relationship with the first 2 and was able to book at Villa Montemartre. Having been in and associated with 3 hotels within 5 minutes of here I can definitely say this is the best. It was a bit more expensive but WELL worth it and accommodates 2 adults and a child very well.

Our room smelled like the sewer was backing up so we had to sleep with the windows wide open and that still did not get rid of the smell. We could not use the shower room at all because of the smell coming into that room. There was nobody to tell as staff leave around 8 PM and do not return until morning.
