Outdated rooms, iffy desk staff, good location!
Room was a little disappointing-- outdated and needed maintenance, e.g. our room kept flooding due to rain coming in from the balcony (though we had the door closed). Staff are lovely everywhere in the hotel EXCEPT the front desk who were always very short and dismissive with us-- for instance when all my clothes got soaked due to the frequent flooding in our room I had to practically beg them to dry them for me without charging me. On the upside, the common areas are modern and pleasant. Lovely pools and beach area. Fun performances in the evenings for guests to watch. Good location just outside the club area (there is a bus out the front that can take you there for 12 pesos I believe). There are restaurants across the road and the La Isla mall is a short walk (about 10-15 mins walk).

Ok-ish for a couple of days not longer
It is an old hotel, well preserved but with lots of improvements to be done (mostly if you compare it with hotels around which have been improved in the last years). I arrived at 10:30 and they told me that check in is not until 3pm, but that my room would be in 2 hours (12:30) ... I got the room at 3 anyway which if I would know it I'd have planned the day differently. They have a buffet restaurant and an a-la-carte restaurant (booking needed), and around pool area they have burgers/hot dogs from 12 to 6pm aprox (then the drink area is moved to the lobby). Food is pretty average (at least in the buffet restaurant), nothing special, not much mexican food and basically 2-3 main dishes with multiple sides to add which makes it look like they have lots of different types of food. basic salads and poor desserts (same dough with different sweet coverts). Staff was friendly in pool, towels area and restaurant, but in reception were not (short and even a bit rude answers, and a couple of times, e.g. when I got wifi disconnected, they weren't able to help or tell me what was going on....). There is no other entertainment at all at the hotel, but having a drink by the lobby in the afternoon.

Flamingo Hotel Review
I usually don't have any complaints about hotel stays but this one was terrible. Beware! The amenities that the website says are included were not included in the room: -Not guaranteed wifi -No bottled water -No daily housekeeping And on top of that, these were the some of the worst experiences: -Broken shower -Refrigerator does not work -Previous customer's food/drink items left in the fridge -Only 1 outlet available in the room so you need to unplug either the fridge or tv to charge other things. -Construction going on next door We contacted hotels.com twice to complain and the agent was told that the hotel had a brand new room for us that day, but when we went to the front desk they said we had to wait a few days. So we gave up and did not want it to ruin our trip. When I returned home, I called to complain and Flamingo had told hotels.com we had switched rooms 3 times which was completely false and a lie. When you walk in to the hotel, they ask you to join their loyalty program and to not use 3rd party programs to book stays. So I have a feeling we were tended to less because we rejected their offer. The only good thing I have to say is that the staff greets you politely everyday. Other than that, the stay was not worth the price. I had an amazing time at Hotel Emporio last year so I will go back there next time. Hope the helps!

A good hotel on the strip
Great room with sea view. Large, comfortable bed. Nice shower. Fantastic buffet breakfast. We were only staying one night before moving on to Merida. I'm not a fan of Cancun
