Exceptional 10.0
Very highly recommend this hotel! My partner and I were in Oaxaca this past week for a wedding, and stayed at Casa Divina for 7 nights. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the hotel! Our room was beautiful with a king sized bed and tasteful antique furniture, the location was perfect (5-10 mins walk to everything we wanted to see in the city, but quieter than being right in the centre), everyone was super friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was delicious (I was surprised to see negative reviews about the breakfast, since the included breakfast was much much more than we were expecting - it included fresh fruit or freshly squeezed orange juice, an option for the main, from which we always picked the chilaquiles with black beans, and tea or coffee. And we ate on the rooftop terrace every morn, which was a beautiful spot to start the day). The wedding we there for was based at the Quinta Real, where many guests stayed - it’s a 5 star and was much more expensive, so we were very happy to have an affordable option that was in a quieter part of the city but still so walkable and conveniently located. Finally, the staff really went out of their way to help us - they made sure our rental car was parked in a secure location overnight, accommodated our dietary needs at breakfast (I’m vegan and my partner is vegetarian), and had lots of helpful suggestions about the city and surrounding areas (one of the hotel co-owners, Jorge, was usually on site and went out of his way

Poor 2.0
Terrible!! Totally deceiving
The manager or lady at the front desk was very rude and not helpful. She made me wait 45 min to check me in. Once I sat down to check in she told me that she was sold out of rooms at the hotel and I had to be translated to another location far away from down town into a house with a cleaning lady waiting for my arrival to deliver keys. This other location they call villas. I told her that I didn’t want to be moved to another building that was 15 min away in taxi and 30 min waking. After telling her that I didn’t wanted to be moved she called and booked me a taxi insisting that my cab was outside waiting to take me to that other building that they call villas. I took my bag and book another amazing hotel called Azul. This is my first review ever written but had the necessity to share my experience. After all the rudeness they refused a refund. Absolutely the WORST hotel and hospitality service I’ve experienced. Very shameful! Oaxaca is amazing with the most magical people, so enjoy this gem just keep away from this deceiving hotel.

Good 6.0
Nice hotel with old world charm, experience ok.
Upgraded to large suite, very nice. Not very bright and on the street but heavy glass helped with the noise. However the constant speaker music outside our room and restaurant music coming from above was very annoying. They were both turned up too loud and selection of music, Kenny G etc. over and over got tiresome. An easy fix but we weren't heard. I see now this has been mentioned in other reviews. The front desk wasn't very knowledgeable re Spanish school, restaurants etc although did recommend a great tour company San Tours. The chef seemed to have an attitude when we indicated his ceasar salad had too much dressing, after being asked for our opinion. He seemed to go out of his way to turn up the music even if we were the only ones eating breakfast. He fortunately in our three months in Mexico was the only rude person we encountered.

Hammers at 3am!!!
Hardly any other guests. Requested a room upstairs, not possible. Our room was in the WORST position, directly next to the office , on the lobby, loudspeaker outside the door, light directly outside the window, and then building renovations until 3am. I'm sure this is not the norm but hammers at 3 am are still hammers at 3am!!
