Positives & Negatives
Positives: super cute & aesthetically pleasing, gift shop in lobby, fully stocked room with items for purchase, comfy bed, decently clean, free self parking, kind & helpful employees, great location in the town — walking distance from most things. Negatives: room & bathroom were tiny — barely had enough space to put luggage, towel rack was broken prior to arrival, booked room with air condition unit — it barely cooled the room at all. Overall our stay was good. Would rate it a 6/10.

2/10 Poor

Horrible management and follow up.
My family booked 2 rooms for 6 nights total at Anvil Hotel in June. We also encouraged my brother-in-law to stay there as well. So essentially we booked 3 rooms and spent a decent amount altogether. All of the rooms were very far from each other, even though when I booked, I requested we all be close together. The hotel and lobby were "cute" - but that was about it. Our room was small with very little amenities. They said there was a refrigerator in the room, but it was completely stocked with their overpriced minibar and drinks. We had to take everything out to be able to use it - which later we saw on our account that we were charged for using the minibar (which we didn't). There's no coffee in the room, you had to walk to the lobby where someone poured you a cup of drip coffee if you were lucky (one day they said they were out and were brewing another pot which would have been a 15 minute wait). They also claimed there was a nightly happy hour in the lobby - which we never saw. In fact, one night I asked about it, and someone from the front desk pointed to the Glorietta restaurant and told me "they have drinks over there"... Kinda confused, I thought I must have misread the advertised "complimentary happy hour" and blew it off. The second room we booked was larger but dark and stuffy. You could open the window, but it was right on a busy hallway and very loud. It also was right across from very loud deck construction / remodel that started apx 8:00 am every morning.

Good value - location and features
The Anvil has a great location close to restaurants and shopping. It is on the outer edge of downtown lodging so not as close as other hotels. It is a good value compared to other lodging in the area. Our room was nice and we enjoyed the menu of items available in room for purchase. Some cons: It has several buildings so we had an inconvenient walk between lobby check in and moving our luggage in. Walls are relatively thin. We heard outside conversations and trash collection.

4/10 Fair

Let me say this first, The Tetons are the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen and are certainly worth a lvisit at least once! That said, I found Jackson and the Anvil Hotel a little underwhelming. Our hotel room was roughly the same size as mine in Tochigi (Japan). Now space is pretty limited, and therefore precious in Japan, so I give them a pass. The incredibly scant living space at the Anvil does not get the same forgiveness. Super small, broken glass panes, etc. Also, the very young and inexperienced girls (giving them the benefit of a doubt, I hope they were new and improperly trained) were almost negatively helpful during our initial check in. It was our first time in Jackson so we asked very open ended questions to see what the must sees are there. They were useless. Poor dining recommendations, no suggestions on where to go in town or nearby (hint: The most beautiful mountains on the planet are 30 minutes north). I hope to see the Tetons again soon. I will look at accommodation options outside of The Anvil Hotel, and possibly outside Jackson. Maybe there is an investment opportunity here???? Buy one of those ranches up the road, turn out the cattle and ponies, throw up a few reasonably priced hotels and restaurants and run Jackson out of business!!

8/10 Very good

I love the Anvil Hotel and have stayed multiple times. Unfortunately, on this visit, both nights, when I went to take a bath, the water was hot for approximately a few minutes and then changed to lukewarm. When using the sink the first night, it filled up with water and did not fully drain. The following day I went to the lobby and asked if they could fix the drain in the sink and shared about the lack of hot water. Three people were working the front, helping with various items in the lobby. They said they would have someone fix the sink that day and were surprised about the lack of hot water. That evening upon returning to our room, the sink was still plugged, and the water turned lukewarm again. I called the front desk three times within the next hour where the phone rang, and rang, and then was sent to music. I stayed in room 211, so I do not know if the hot water issue was due to location, as all previous stays were in a separate location at the back of the property. That being said, all my previous visits have been PERFECT. I love their rooms, staff, and location!
