    Overpriced and small room

Small room in “historic” section of motel with alley view. Not so great. Mini fridge was night stand on one side of the bed. Made noise throughout the night. Overpriced for size of room.

    Historic hotel in great location

This is a historic hotel and the room décor reflects this. Comfortable but outdated. Our room was warm - no A/C (this is Alaska!) but opening the windows aired in out nicely, but we did have to leave it cracked overnight which means it was a bit noisy. There was a fan provided but unfortunately we didn't see this until we were packing up to leave. Not sure it could have been positioned to hit both beds, anyway. The location is great, near restaurants, shops and the waterfront. Staff was friendly. Did not try the restaurant as the dinner prices were out of our budget and we were in too much of a rush in the morning for breakfast.

I arranged for the room at the last minute due to change of fishing plans. The entire experience was wonderful and I can’t wait to visit again.

Convenient with a lovely view of Resurrection Bay

Hotel Seward was clean and well maintained, and our beds were comfy. We stayed in the historic wing where there were 2 shared bathrooms for our floor. Despite being worried about having to wait to use it, there was only one time in our 3 day stay that I couldn't get in immediately when I wanted to, so the shared bathrooms are really a minor inconvenience that made the stay more affordable. The restraunt is delicious and the waitresses was so kind and pleasant despite the place being super busy.

    Selective indifference

The location is fantastic. The rooms are decent for an older hotel. The "courtesy shuttle" is basically non-existant. Seriously, you drop 2k on hotel rooms and a 4 minute drive to the bus station is out of the question (with the shuttle driver on site and in the office.) Staffing is short, sure. But there is 0 effort and honestly an overall attitude of indifference. I can take 0 maid service, but overall it was just a garbage attitude, and a feeling that "open" is good enough. Everyone in town is hurting, but others are putting way more into it.

    Meh

Room was dated and had a view of the alley and parking lot. Very poor value. Things either smelled musty or of air freshener.

    Shared Bathrooms Not a Problem

We stayed in the historic section of the hotel. The shared bathrooms were not a problem. There were two bathrooms. Each was a one-person bathroom and there was a lock on the door. This was my biggest concern, but it seemed to work out well.
